TTM about washer and dryers

Laundry day would be so much easier if the dryer was just as fast as the wash. Drying clothes takes for ever in my home.

Does anyone have a fancy set that takes about the same time, or is this typical?

Also, I know I have read that dryers can slow down when there is a lot of lint build up. Anybody have a cleaning solution for me? Do you just use the hose on the vacuum?

TIA.

  • I love your siggy pic!!!!

I use the hose on the vacuum to clean the lint, however the dryer usually takes longer then the wash. I hang a lot of things, so I really only ever have one dryer load for 2 wash loads.

yes, it ends up being like 1 load in the dryer because of everything I hang up to dry. Laundry sucks! If I ever win the lottery I am having someone do all of my laundry.

  • Now that we have an HE set we have the opposite problem. It takes an hour for the normal wash cycle and the close are dry in 30-45 minutes. But now that things are warming up it is line drying season!

This! 2 hours to wash bedding

  • DH has a long list of outdoor chores, so I may have to search the internet and take this on today.
@smpeachey‌ Good to know for when I start my search for a new dryer. Thanks.

  • Also thanks for the dryer ball suggestions. I have looked into it before but thought it was weird.
@Steamboat1679‌ do you make them or buy them?

  • One of the things I look forward to when I someday have a house, is a nice washer and dryer. We have them in the basement, but they are really old (the dryer is from the 80s) and super basic models. They are why I gave up on CDs. It required 4 trips to the basement just to wash one load of diapers.
