When I arrived at the hospital having contractions with this baby, the nurse that did my initial check had a hell of a time trying to reach my cervix bc it was posterior (I was 4cm at the time) I don't think it moved forward until I was further into labor

Mine didn't move forward until I had been in labor for a while. The first couple of cervical checks I had in L&D felt like they were trying to reach straight up to my tonsils.
Mine didn't move forward until my doula put me in a jackknife position in the bed. I was fully dilated, but it just wouldn't move forward, even when my OB tried rocking it forward internally (talk about crazy painful!). I'm certain that my doula kept me from having an RCS.
Same here. The nurses and OB had a heck of a time getting my measurements as well, even during labor. I don't think it was easy to palpate until I was mostly dilated.
