City Mini GT on the beach

I am looking for a side by side double stroller mostly for use in the City but we do head down to the beach quite a bit in the summer time. I wanted to know if anyone had experience with pushing the City Mini GT on the sand and how well it worked. I don't want a large jogging stroller because it would be too big for day to day use in the City. Thanks for any advise!

I love my City Mini and have taken it a million places. I've tried it on the beach in Chicago and in Florida (ocean side) and it did not work at all. The sand was just too deep.

I have a city select which if I'm not mistaken has bigger tires on the back than the gt and does not push in sand. I always have to pull it. But on the wet sand its fine

I hear the BOB is great for the beach but that doesn't help you if you want a smaller stroller. You really need big wheels for it to do well in sand. Maybe get a used BOB and something else for the city.

Even a large wheeled stroller still isn't an easy time on the beach. Pushing anything in sand is hard. We have the City Elite and had much better luck turning it backwards and pulling it through the sand, which was also exhausting. There was another couple doing the same thing with their BOB after they saw us doing it so I don't know if a BOB would be that much better, either.

I can't speak from experience but my friend has the Joovy stroller and they think it's the best they have tried specifically for the beach.

I have a City mii double and absolutely LOVE it! I live by the beach and use it for that as well as when I go into the city with no complaints. Deft worth the investment. I love how it is side by side, yet compact enough to fit through a standard doorway.
