So my sister's MIL was at my parent's house for Christmas. She asked me how much weight i have gained.... I'm not shy about my weight and I told her 30 pounds. She kind of rolled her eyes and was like that's quite a bit. I then proceeded to tell her that my OB is fine w/ it because I was close to being on the "too low" weight before my pg. Then my dad proceeds to come up w/ an even crazier comment and goes, "yeah 10 pounds of it is the baby". Um.. hello, God I hope not ... I'm only at 32 weeks.. can you imagine how huge the baby would be at term if at 32 weeks the baby would be 10 pounds?
Re: Crazy comments at Christmas
Lol. Maybe your dad meant including fluids, placenta, etc. Let's hope he doesn't think there is a ten pounder in there right now! Lord help you if there was.
Ahh got to love men. I just got the "wow you are so big" comments followed quickly by "but you are all belly so it is ok" comments
30 pounds isn't too much, especially considering you were underweight beforehand. How rude of her to insinuate that?!
Maybe you're dad was trying to defend you against sister's MIL's comments? As in, only 20 of those pounds is actually weight that you're carrying on your own?
