Transferring from the car?

Do any of you guys have luck transferring from the car to the crib during naps? My kid will not have it he wakes up and will not go back to sleep. So, basically I either deal with that or sit in my car while he sleeps. Usually I just avoid the car nap all together and make sure I'm home around nap time but it just doesn't always work out. Any tips or tricks to this?

  • Same problem here. If he sleeps less than 10 or 15 minutes I can maybe get him back down, but usually it's a struggle at best. Sorry :/

Well darn. Stupid car naps. I need someone tomtickle my baby on the drive home. ETA - to tickle, not tomtickle (sounds creepy)

I used to be able to transfer him when he was littler but not anymore. There are days that nap time is right in the middle of my step-d school pickup. I've been known to drive around until the kid falls asleep, treat myself to a dunks coffee and parking it in front of her school an hour early just so DS can get a car nap in. That's when I do ALL the mobile bumping. I tried to read a book once and the dang page turn woke him up sooo I'll never make that mistake again.

Hahahaha I love this!! Made me laugh. We have no luck either...I always just wake her up. Never occurred to me to park in the garage or do yard work. Duh...

  • I have never once been able to keep my kid sleeping from the car. Once the car stops, he's up. This is even at red lights. Fun times. So we only plan trips around nap time if they are long enough to be a decent nap (an hour+). If not, we don't go anywhere lol. Jackson has a God awful, blow your ear drums out screech when he's overtired. It's not worth it lol.

  • Never ever. Ug. I hate car naps. Like others have said, I've left the car doors open and sat on the grass waiting for him to wake (can't hear the car in the house).
