December 2013 Moms

@JillSandM

I saw that you had your gallbladder out a few weeks back so if you could give me an idea of your recovery I would appreciate it. I had mine out Monday and thought I was doing pretty well until last night when I started feeling like I am on fire. I am at my doctors now BC I clearly know its not normal but I was wondering what your experience was.

Re: @JillSandM

  • I had major pain for days! Never had a fever or had my incisions get funky though. I took the narcotics for 2 days (pumping and dumping as directed), then switched to a schedule of alternating Tylenol and ibuprofen for another 10 days. I was tear-inducing sore for almost 2 weeks! It hurt to sit up from lying down, stand from a sit, vacuum, lift pans out of the oven, pick up or even hold DD. It was not at all like I expected!

    Be sure to update after you see the doc!

  • Yeah they drained it. Infected...not howiI saw this going and the meds that they give for the infection make me so sick...its like the first trimester again lol. I'm glad to know that the amount ofsore is right about normal.
  • My doc said pregnancy brings on most of the gall bladder issues he sees in women. Something about the hormones slowing down our bile production and overall digestion.
