The calm before the storm?

I am 38 weeks today. I woke up yesterday feeling tired. I've been nauseous the last few days and now I am having very loose bowel movements. I just generally don't feel well. I have had some cramping and pains that felt like gas. I've had crazy BH for the last 2 weeks. It's pretty constant. I've also noticed I am breaking out on my face for the first time since I became pregnant. Is it possible I will be going into labor soon or am I just grasping at straws? Has anyone every experienced this in a previous pregnancy or heard of these symptoms?

I've been having GI issues all week, but no sign of baby. I think it's just Mother Nature fucking with us.

There's another little stomach bug going around too. My kids at school have been getting it and I was home this week with GI issues as well and feeling nauseous. Could be that too but I'm a FTM so I don't know.

I'm 38 weeks as well and I've been grasping at every little straw that labor is coming (diarrhea, loss of MP, etc etc) and the bottom line is that we have no effing clue until the contractions start or our water breaks. It was stressing me out.

So while they COULD be labor signs, it could be nothing. Try to relax and not read too much into anything.

I know that is not the answer to your question, but just wanted to share my unsolicited advice.

It could all be a sign of impending labor. I'm 36w4d and had all these symptoms this week as well. We were scrambling to get everything finished because we started freaking out! (That didn't help either.... Ha) It turned out I just needed to relax. At least we're ready now!! Hope you have a relaxing last few weeks! Good luck and best wishes to you!

It is possible that you will be going into labor sometime in the next 4 weeks.

Symptoms don't mean much unless they're accompanied by productive contractions and cervical progress. Even hindsight isn't necessarily reliable when it comes to labor "signs," because many of them can be normal symptoms of most stages of pregnancy.

FWIW, I've had the same symptoms you're describing since about 30 weeks. They're pretty typical of the third trimester.

I fucking hate suspense. I don't watch suspense movies or tv shows because i hate not knowing what's going to happen, or when it's going to happen. I like to be in control and plan things out, so this waiting is torture. I wish i could at least narrow it down to a few days so i can plan my life around it.

As it stands i have GI issues, snot crotch with full on boogers, a hyperactive LO who keeps head butting me in the cervix and a feeling of my vajay being lightly stretched. This could mean something or nothing. I'll let you know.

I feel like mine is being torn in fucking half with a chainsaw. I was 3 cm dilated on Monday and I'm thinking maybe I've made more progress since then. I just envision myself walking around with the Grand Canyon in between my legs.

I wonder if I'm a bit dilated then. I haven't had anyone up in my vajay throughout the pregnancy, so I have no way to tell. She's definitely working on something down there though. She seems to be switching between using a pick axe and and trying to stretch me open.

Don't want to shine a ray of hope where there may be nothing, but at my
birthing classes the nurse said the two signs she thinks are most accurate are diarhea and nesting a few days before labor begins. Just in her years of experience she says those two seem to be the biggest indicators that it could be coming soon.

Well i had a nice bout of stabbing and stretching last night, in the general groin/cervix area. Got up this morning and unless someone sneezed in the toilet, i'm losing my mucus plug. I'm also not feeling too hot digestive wise, but that may be more to do with my inner panic than anything. I'm NOT ready.

Baby is still inside. Now my stomach is rock hard like I have BH 24 hours a day. I have managed to nest like I'm an eagle. There's nothing really left to do. I'm convinced this baby will graduate high school still in the womb.

I have never "nested". Wish I would get some sort of frantic cleaning bug- alas I will just continue to just sit back and chill. Rather be well rested than nested...

I'm pretty sure I didn't realize that I'd be going into pre-term labor when I went to bed last Wednesday night or even when I woke up to pee at 3:50 am, you can continue to analyze all the signs in the world....when it happens it happens.

"Nesting" as a labor sign annoys me (our nurse at the childbirth class said the same thing). My husband keeps telling people that I've been "nesting" and all I can think is, "I'm cleaning the f-ing house because you're not doing it!"

Yeah, I hear you on that! When the nurse said that, I said that I've been "about to go into labor" for over a month because every project you can imagine in my house is getting done!
