My EDD was April 1st. Apparently, the April Fools Day joke was on me because as of 4/8, I still hadn't even had a single contraction.

I went to my OB appointment on 4/8 and my blood pressure was a bit on the high side. My doctor made the call that I should go to the hospital that night and would be induced the following morning. I went to the hospital that night and they started me on Cervadil.

The following morning, they started me on Pitocin at 7:30AM. I began having contractions about an hour later. By 12pm, my contractions were not progressing. The nurse told me that the doctor might decide to stop the Pitocin, send me back up to my room and start me on something else to induce labor (I can't remember the name of the drug), the following day. Not exactly what I wanted to hear.

However, when my OB checked in on me a few hours later. She informed me that she was going to break my water and that should get contractions progressing. She broke my water at 3:30PM and I began having strong, very painful contractions. After a few of these, I asked for the epi. I began pushing at 2:30am. Ronin William arrived at 4:25 AM on 4/10 and weighed 8 lbs even and measured 21 inches. He immediately peed on my doctor and pooped on me during skin to skin. Little stinker!
