My sweet girl is turning 1

DD2 will be 1 in 9 days, we made it!

Question: I'm dropping to one pump all day as of today.  If I stop pumping completely next week, I can still keep nursing her first thing in the morning for awhile right? Or would I need to nurse twice a day to keep any sort of supply?  I've had an oversupply forever and drying up this far has been rough, but I'm not quite ready to drop that first thing in the morning nursing cuddle.

Yes, your body will adjust. I stopped pumping when my DS was 14 months and he still nurses 3-5 times a day. I go all day during the week without nursing or pumping. If you are trying to cut down to just once a day, you might want to drop sessions gradually to avoid engorgment and the risk of blocked ducts. P.s. Congrats to making it to 1 year! :) as much as i love BFing, it sure was a relief to stop pumping at work!

  • congrats! Yes, you can just drop to how many sessions you want a day at this point. No need to nurse or pump extra.
