Question for disposable diaper mamas

I've been using Pampers NB swaddlers as well as Huggies NB's. Somehow LO manages to pee up his back or side?! Not every time but often enough. I always try to make sure his penis is pointing down when I change him, but I'm not sure how much this helps. Does this happen to anyone else? Any ideas for preventing this from happening?

    Carter has done this a couple of times, but it comes out the side or top. If I just pull it tighter and fasten it, it seems to help. I use Huggies and pampers too.

    Thanks for the great advice! I'll check next time to see if the rest of the diaper is wet or dry.

    This has happened to us several times as well. Sometimes his diaper is wet, sometimes it isn't. Doesn't happen all the time though and the NBs still fit. I point his penis down; this kid is a Houdini pee-er is guess!!

    And..we were using swaddlers until we ran out. We received two cases of baby dry and have been using those, seems to be less frequent with the NB baby dry than the swaddlers.

    We're having this problem too. It seems a little bit better now that his umbilical stump has fallen off and we can pull the top of the diaper up higher (making the leg holes fit more snugly), instead of folding it down, which always seemed to leave a gap in the front and in the back.

    I change every feed and haven't had a problem.  The one time I skipped a feed and went 6 hours between diaper changes he was wet all over his back.  Lesson learned...
