Extreme Hunger (breastfeeding)

Holy hell, is this a common thing? I don't remember being insanely hungry with my other three kiddos, but now I'm hungry every 30 minutes. I'm far more hungry than I ever was while pregnant, and my brain telling my stomach that I'm not starving to death doesn't work. Besides my new little bundle, food is all I think about. Has this happened to anyone else?

    Yep, me too. I'm constantly hungry and thirsty. I don't remember feeling this insatiable last time, but it doesn't bother me much. Any reason to eat is fine by me!

    Me too! I even have a 4:00am meal because of it :/ almost every night

    I went to a work conference while still BFing and my friends were blown away by how much food I could take down while still dropping weight. It was somewhat rediculous, and equally awesome.

    I have eaten foods that I hate only because they were the only options available..and they tasted delicious!

    Yes! Happens to me after each baby while nursing. I eat alllllll day long!

    Yep - starving. I have a bag of pretzels near my bed for late night feeds, but I'm tempted to install a mini fridge near my rocker fully stocked with finger food.

    Oh and eventually instituting this for myself and LO (see below). LO with breast milk, and mine with water... And the occasional Sauv Blanc vintage. :P
