WWYD: 4 mature follicles w/ MFI ** BFP/chemical mentioned

Ladies.. I need any advice I can get. My head is spinning. I know it's a decision my DH and I have to make... but just curious what you all would do, especially if you are MFI.

So I had my CD10 u/s today. I now have 4 follicles that will be mature by Sunday at our IUI (triggering tomorrow night). If I triggered today, we wouldn't have any at 18. We are MFI w/ very low morph and low count. We had 9 mil motile post wash on first one & 6 mil motile post wash on second iui. The second IUI I had 2 folliclies and we did get a BFP but ended in chemical. I don't know what to do. My DH can't answer the phone at work so I'm flipping out at having 4 lol. We are okay w/ twins but I'm terrified of triplets now & I don't think we would want to do selective reduction. My DH does have sperm issues. So I'm at a crossroads. I really don't want to cancel, but I also want to be smart. Trying to weigh my probabilities and percentages is making me crazy. My DH has also been taking a Fertility Blend and mentioned he has noticed more sperm come out lately. Whether that's true or not, I have no idea. It's only been about 6 weeks.

Hmmm. Thanks for listening to my scattered brain right now lol. My RE wants us to decide what to do by tomorrow at our u/s.

Do it. Multiples are always a concern, but considering you're MFI, the chances of all 4 of those being fertilized & sticking is slim. Not impossible, but slim.

@nariadreamingI have 2 at 16.5mm and 2 at 17.5mm... doing either 100-125 of follistim tonight and trigger tomorrow night for IUI Sunday.

Definitely with those sizes.... I was in a similar situation & I went for it. Purely because it sucks to cancel a cycle!

I don't have MFI, but I'm 39. I just triggered with 5 18-19mm and 3 more at 15mm. I'd def trigger with 4 but I'm not sure if you should trust my opinion.

Thank you all for the responses. I am def. leaning toward going for it. But I'm going to have a deeper talk w/ my RE tomorrow at my last u/s. I'm hoping tomorrow he can tell me at least some statistics. You all have no idea how much I appreciate your support on here.

I would go for it. I was in a similar situation while on follistim with 4 possibly 5 mature follies. We had 12.5 million post wash and it was a BFN. With MFI, the chances of high order multiples are pretty low and my RE was comfortable with the decision to move forward.

So my E2 number just came back and its 261.. Dr. Google says the number should be 200 per mature follicle. I mean I know mine aren't technically mature yet, but that doesn't sound good right?

My e2 never jumps up until the end. This cycle it was on day 11, e2 of 1173 but I had 19 measurable follicle and 6 in the 14-16 range. Day 8 I was only 384. Maybe in 2 days it may change a lot. I also read somewhere that everyone's body is different an e2 of 200 per mature follicle isn't an exact science it's more an estimate. Then again I could have dreamed this.

First, I would go for it. We just did an IUI with 4 size wise mature follies. I don't know what my e2 was for them because when I went on a Wednesday, only one was big enough. When I went back that Friday, all 4 were suddenly big enough. We use donor sperm, so we have no MFI. The chances of 3-4 fertilizing and implanting is very very slim. We decided previously that selective reduction was not an option for us. I want 3-4 follies because that means more chances that we will at least get one. We have decided to draw the line at 4, but that is certainly a very personal choice.

Second, my follies always wait until the end to really mature and grow. It is very possible that your e2 will be much higher at your next check.

Talk to your RE about your concerns for sure. When I had 6 mature follies back in January, he called me and we discussed the concerns. He supported my decision to cancel as he expressed that we could have high odds of three or more fertilizing and implanting.

Edit: I'm getting things mixed up...at my last scan before IUI, only one follie was size mature. The morning of my IUI there were 4 that were size mature. I had no blood work done before my IUI that morning, so I don't know if they were actually mature. Also, my RE says between 150-200 is considered mature.

When I had 4-5 follies measuring 15-17mm on CD10, my e2 was 1300 and I triggered the next day. I think everyone is different though and your e2 might climb tomorrow. Good luck!

My RE just called and said my 261 E2 was normal (not 247, I remembered wrong). Anyway, I trust him. I just wish he would explain better, but I know he knows what he's doing. He said I don't even need estogen patches this time, which is different. I'm doing another shot of Follistim tonight with trigger tomorrow and IUI Sunday. I'm sure the Follistim will help my lining and E2 as well.

Thanks everyone for the info! I don't feel like my number is that terrible anymore... but here's hoping tomorrow is better! Is it sad to be ready for the 2WW lol. So stressfull!
