Do you get baby weighed?

I want to bf more but I like the fact that when I feed baby X amount of ounces of either formula or pumped milk, I know when to expect her to be hungry again. That allows me to take a guaranteed 1-2 hr nap or run an errand knowing she'll be ok for the drive.

So my question is, do you take baby to the LC and have her weighed before and after to determine how many minutes of nursing allows her to get X amount of ounces?

Re: Do you get baby weighed?

  • It's hard for me to make the switch in my mind bc I EP'd last time so I've never trusted myself enough to solely bf. I always worry she's not getting enough, I also worry I'm not making enough to satisfy her

  • I've weighed her many times with the LC at our weekly bf group. She takes a different amount all the time. She once did 8 oz in 10 minutes and another time it was 3 oz in 15 minutes. Baby is the best judge of how much they should eat, not the bottle.
