TTC Check-In

Good Morning!

How is your/your partner's TTC journey progressing? Give us an update where you are at in the process and how things are going.

**Reminder - If you have a BFP to announce, please do so by creating a new thread so everyone can see it! Thank you!**

QOTW: Do you do anything special for Easter?

11/14/14 -  Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good.

12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2

12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)

1/2/15 - Began stimming for IVF #2

We are Mommas to four fur babies - 3 dogs and 1 cat.

Re: TTC Check-In

  • I am 1 dpiui #5.  Everything went well yesterday.  The u/s beforehand showed that the smaller three follies made a run for it.  So, at IUI time yesterday, I had a 21.5 mm, 18.5 mm and 2 16.5 mm follies.  This made me much more excited for our chances.  Our sample was 47 million after thaw and all were "zooming around" according to the nurse.  I stared my Endometrin suppositories this morning.  It is a hard tablet, which I was not expecting.  I double checked and they are definitely for vaginal insertion only.  I will be doing those twice a day until my beta.  Beta is scheduled for 4/29.  My 30th birthday is on the 24th, which would be 11 dpiui.  I have always started testing at 10 dpiui.  I think I might wait until after my birthday to test, just in case it is a BFN.  A BFP would be a great birthday present, but a BFN would not be an enjoyable way to start off my birthday.

If this cycle is a bust, we are on to IVF.

QOTW:  C's entire family gets together for Easter at her Aunt's house...we're talking about 40 people, at least.  We are going there for a bit and then headed to my Aunt's for an early dinner.  She makes wonderful food, so we are both looking forward to that.

  • Today is 13 dpiui. We got a BFN this morning but it is also CD33 so she is considered late but we will see if she doesnt get AF by tomorrow she will go for blood work Wednesday. She has no symptoms I am just annoyed with this cycle she O late her follie wasnt as big as I had hoped for with the natural cycle. I believe on the next cycle we will ask for medication. I know the docotor wanted her to have one natural cycle but she was also diagnosed with PCOS and I know meds will hopefully make more follies so hoping for more targets :) I also have to remind my self yes this is our 8th try as a couple but for her body this is her first time trying to get pregnant and things take time.

QOTW: Do you do anything special for Easter? Usually we get together with both sides of the family and all the kids do a big easter egg hunt. This year I will be working so no real easter plans for me. SO will still go to family dinner and bring food home for me.

  • Today is cycle day 5. Sarah started Follistim injections Sat. We have an appointment Thursday morning at 9:30 for monitoring. We have HCG trigger and support on hold and waiting as well as ganarelix to keep her from ovulating too fast. After the iui we will do prometrium for 15 days and test the 17th day after IUI. This is cycle 1 of 3 before IUI.

    10 medicated IUI's (3 with injectables).
IUI #1 (medicated) Jan. 2013-BFP!!!!- Beta's didn't double, MTX shot for possible ectopic.
    8 IUI's between April 13-April 14 = BFN
IUI #10 and final before IVF, injectables May 2014- BFP!!!!  TWINS!!!!

7 week ultrasound showed 2 wonderful heartbeats!
8 weeks to the ER with vaginal bleeding while on vacations!  Diagnosed SubChorionic Hemorrhage.  Babies are both great.
9 week ultrasound showed both babies are still great.
  • Heyo!  So I inexplicably ovulated really early this month.  I thought it would be sometime around CD 18-21 (since that's pretty normal for me).  Nope, CD 14 this time around.  I'm okay with that.  It'll still be the end of the month when it happens and all the mayhem of April will be over so it's really not too big of a deal.  I would have preferred a week later, to be honest, but I can't control what my body does so all I can do is roll with it.

Anyhoo... I had my first acupuncture appointment today :) The acupuncturist is smokin' hot.  I was a little distracted.  I guess some eye candy can't hurt, right?  He told me his patients see a 15% increase per cycle following his plan so that'll hopefully give my odds the boost they need along with the Follistim and Femara.  I'd scheduled my meds to arrive on the 29th.  You know, because I was completely sure I'd ovulate late enough that it would be okay to wait.

    8-|

I didn't want the medicine staring me in the face the rest of the month so I wanted it to get here later when I'd allow my obsessive thoughts back into my head.  C says she'll hide it for me so I won't see it all the time.  I guess I better call the pharmacy and have it shipped sooner.  Oh, joy!

  • Had a confirmed BFN yesterday when AF started on CD 24. Such a short cycle, I am not sure what to make of it. I am waiting to speak with the RE about anything we will change for next time. The nurse did agree that we will at least check day 21 progesterone, which has not been tested yet.

  • We are 4 dpiui #1. IUI was last Friday which was also my birthday. Saturday we had a huge storm come through knocking out power which didn't come back until early Monday. It was a great distraction so I didn't think too much about the two week wait. If this cycle isn't successful the RE is recommending clomid and u/s monitoring due to endometriosis. C isn't a fan of anything that increases the chance of twins so she is constantly telling my belly positive things.

QOTW- We are going to my sister's for Easter and the whole family will be there. My family is hilarious so we can't wait and there will be six different kinds of pie!
  • Still no cycle for K. Got a BFN yesterday morning. She is going to wait a week and if her cycle doesn't start get a blood test. Considering she was supposed to start her cycle 1-2 weeks ago we aren't sure what it is. She has been extremely in touch with her body lately and keeps looking things up when she noticing something different or odd. Asks me if I've ever seen it before. I started answering that I don't remember.

Probably be in Niagara Falls for Easter this year. I have my niece and nephew for spring break and my sister wants them back, not exactly sure why.

  • (first post with actual days so i hope this is correct)
I am CD3 with our first RE appointment scheduled for tomorrow.  please check my additional post for some questions, I don't want to post them here as it would be semi-off topic

We are going to DW's Aunt's for Easter.  We decided to alternate our families for Easter & Thanksgiving, and my mom always gets Christmas Eve and hers always gets Christmas.  This eliminates driving on holidays- although the houses our families go to are either 5 or 30 mins apart (depending on holiday), the timing doesnt work out to go to more than one.

@oddduck1979‌ - Wow...you both have way more will power than I would probably ever have! Sorry that it looks like a BFN so far. It probably would be a good idea to call the doc and get a blood test an see what is going on. I have found that all bets are off with my body and what is "regular" since we started this whole process.

  • We are now just waiting until we get the get-go from our doctors to start birth control, but due to Laire's sister getting married at the end of June, we are now definitely having a July IVF, hopefully between the 11th and 15th, just after Iona comes back off of honeymoon.

QOTW: Laire's grandmother holds a family party on Easter Sunday every year, so we are going to that, and if its nice we will be having a BBQ in her back garden, and also an egg hunt for the 'kids' (the 'kids' ranging from ages 20 to 38).
