Trying acupuncture this afternoon!

Hoping it will help induce labor, I am excited to see. I am 40 weeks 3 days today. Been at 1 cm and 70% effaced for about 2 weeks now and dr wants to induce Monday at 41 weeks. I have dr appt at 11:15 today then acupunture at 12:40. Has anyone done this or know of someone who has and did it help or work ?

    I did it yesterday!  Still no baby (40+6, 0 cm)  but I figured it was worth a try.  She said if it didn't work to come back today.  During the appointment I was getting some cramping (I haven't had any real contractions since 34 weeks) but nothing else really changed.  Good luck hopefully it works for you!

    I had it done last Friday and had baby on Monday. Not sure if the two are related (also had my membranes stripped the day before acupuncture...)

    Hoping it gets things moving for you!!

    I am a believer that it helps.

    I had acupuncture the day before I went into labor, but also had my membranes stripped that same day. I had acupuncture weekly for random ailments all pregnancy and at 37 weeks she started using labor points. I had gone for three labor sessions before labor started.

    It will at least relax your body, which may make it easier to start labor.

    I had 4 sessions of acupuncture and still had to get medically induced :( but I don't think it was a waste of time, the two sessions that focused on aligned my body for labor I think really made a difference. My labor and delivery was incredibly smooth, especially for an induction. And I was still able to avoid pit, which I will tell anybody is thanks to acupuncture. Good luck to you!
