Lurker- 3T- IUI Success...

Issue is MFI. "Low normal" count and "low normal" motility. First IUI with injects was a bust. 8 million post wash. Lots of follies ones worth noting: 1- 18mm, 1-17mm, 2- 16mm, 1- 14mm. Looking for success stories to keep me in the game. How many IUI did you do before BFP? Were you MFI? Any helpful tricks to pass on? Thanks ladies!!

Hi- not sure that this will help since we were unexplained vs MFI. But I did 5 IUI's total, got pregnant on the 2nd with clomid and miscarried, then got pregnant again on the 5th with injects (current pregnancy). Our count for the first pregnancy was 13 mil, and for the last one we did B2B IUIs for the first time and I think counts were 17 mil and 23 mil. It was also our first injects cycle, and my first time using progesterone support, crinone, during an IUI cycle. There's no scientific evidence for either of these, but I was also taking coq10- ubiquinol and I ate pineapple core for 5 days after ovulation. I also did the pineapple core thing during our first BFP cycle, but then again I also ate it during 1-2 of our IUIs that didn't work so it probably didn't actually help :-) I also had a full bladder for IUIs during our last cycle, which was something new, I had always emptied first.

I think that they generally say that if it hasn't worked after 3 attempts, change something, and if IUI is going to work at all it will usually work within the first 3-4 cycles. Good luck, hope to see you here soon!!

My dh only has low count due to low T. He's been on clomid to help his count but honestly at our IUIs it's been hit and miss. We don't get exact counts just grades and he's had the lowest grade of count the 2x I've gotten pg.

For ds we did only 2 iui+clomid. For my current pg I did 3 clomid IUIs plus 1 TI, 2 injects iui (plus a few cycles were cancelled due to no response on my end) and 2 Femara IUIs. This was all spread out over a year, but it looks like we are expecting twins. So worth it but it took a while.

We were considering saving up for IVF but one of my REs suggested the Femara so we did it as a Hail Mary but it worked.

We didn't have MFI so I have no advice there but we were in the unexplained category. We got lucky on IUI #3. Good luck to you!!!

I'm not sure if this will help since we are not MFI, but I have endo. We were successful with IUI #2. It was ironic because I thought we were out since the doc said even with 5 follies I had a 5% or less chance. He mentioned that I should start thinking of moving onto injects if that cycle didn't work. I was nearly in tears by the time, I left the office. I believe the only reason we were successful is that when I had to come back for the IUI we had perfect timing, I was ovulating.
