Lillebaby carrier vs ergo carrier

Finished my registry and had heard really great things about the ergo carrier, but once I was at buy buy baby I was informed that it isn't made for forward facing! I feel like I need this for when the baby gets older... So I was introduced to Lillebaby carrier and fell in love! It's much more breathable and can forward face, just wondering if anyone has used it or known anyone who has and their opinion on it

Thanks

  • I chose the Lillebaby over the Ergo.  The Ergo is shorter than the other soft structured carriers that were recommended to me (Lillebaby, Beco, and Boba), so it may last longer as your child gets older.  Lillebaby was having a crazy sale on their organic carrier ($130 carrier for $70), so I opted to get that one.  The Lillebaby also has a back support feature that I liked and it's a local company for me, which I wanted to support.  Many moms I know in the area who have a Lillebaby absolutely love it.  That being said, I know many moms who love their Ergos too.

  • I have been researching and testing carriers like crazy.  I finally decided on the Lillebaby Airflow carrier.  The Ergo is nice, and they recently came out with an Ergo 360 that allows baby to face out, however it still requires the infant insert and I don't want to bother with another product to purchase and to wear/assemble with baby.  The airflow is all mesh material and SO much cooler than regular fabric.  You should check it out!
  • We have and love the Ergo, though I'm pretty convinced that most soft structured carriers are likely interchangeable. The only one I know I don't like is the one that requires 2 hands to undo the buckle (I think the Beco?). To me that's a serious design flaw.

DD has loved to be worn since birth and has only wanted to look out a few times. I'm perfectly happy that our Ergo never had that option. She nearly always falls asleep in the carrier and she's much more supported sleeping facing me than if she were facing outward. She would also be less likely to sleep facing outward, and as a baby was more likely to get overwhelmed. However different kids have different personalities.
