So there is no confusion...this is the weekly poop thread :)

Because things like Mr. Softee get confused for poop threads!

My OB suggested I start taking colace everyday.  He said two to start.  I know my body.  I'm taking one of the lowest dose I could find.  Seems to be doing the trick, except for the farts stink like nothing on Earth!  On the positive side, I don't really care what they smell like because I've pooped three times in two days, normal poops, and feel soooo much better lower intestinal wise.  It's a miracle.  Mind you, that feels better so my baby is pushing up on my stomach and making the GERD worse, but I'll take what I can get!

  • @Merie412‌ definitely. I think he gets a kick out of punching my intestines so I have to go, and then enjoying his extra space.

  • this week I've been having really mild contractions leading up to a BM. I barely get out anything, get off the pot and then baby shifts over and all of a sudden I'm running back to the toilet trying not to poop my pants. it's a fun game :|
  • Sometimes it feels like someone is trying to manually empty my bowel by squeezing it. I have mixed feelings about this effort. On the one hand, coming out is always better than staying in. On the other hand, LO can create an urgency similar to food poisoning.

  • Speaking of prune juice... Anyone have any tips or drink recipes to make it taste better?? I tried pineapple juice, but was not a fan...

  • Coffee and Fiber one bars along with lots of water is your best friend! Trust me! Knock on wood no problems yet in the poop department! Hope it stays that way!! And yeah sometimes I feel nauseous and then I poop and I feel better! The baby does create urgency sometimes!
  • Ummm I woke up extremely early this morning with horrible poop cramps... But nothing came out. My body just wanted to wake me up to say, "Hey just wanted to remind you that you're reeeeaaallly constipated! No sleep for you!"
  • I had issues with regularity pre-pregnancy but oh my god. This entire pregnancy it's like my body doesn't know how to react to a growing baby so it just keeps shitting everything out that it possibly can. Makes me very worried for what delivery day will look like.

Also, didn't say that to be snotty about how much I can poop when so many are having issues. I literally run to the bathroom doing the Frankenstein walk once a week bc of #2 emergencies.

  • While at my moms last week I was crying on the toilet because I felt like I was shitting out a Pringles can. No joke had to break it up because it would not flush at all. Now I'm getting the "fevers" every other day or so and running to the bathroom. This is after 8 months of constipation and once weekly poos. I don't know if I should be happy or sad. I just cannot wait to be a normal poo-er again

    @read247 have you tried apricots?

I had tiny rabbit pellets this morning that I think may have chipped the porcelain on the toilet, I heard *clink* noises. But maybe that means I'll get to go sometime today??

I haven't. Dried or regular? I don't really like them, but I'll try anything at this point.

  • @LoHerrim‌ - I actually like prunes. They're like fat, juicy raisins. Prune juice sucks though...

  • This is the poster on the wall in the bathroom at work, it reminds me of this thread. Sounds like we have a lot of type 1s in this group.
  • @Taymiller‌ that poster fascinates me way too much. It's like when I'm hiking and see animal droppings and photograph them and text them to DH for his opinion on what could have done it.

I've been doing this. Except it's contractions then almost excruciating cramps and I can't poo. Then I finally give up and all of a sudden I'm about to explode. And even though I feel like I'm about to explode I have to push like in trying to deliver the baby. Then I have more contractions. Incredibly unpleasant and very time consuming.
  • I was having issues with this for like 2 months. Especially when diagnosed as anemic and I started iron pills I would literally be up all night in pain. I finally started taking 1 colace daily and drank some prune juice and voila! For the last 2 weeks I have been regular, almost pooping every day. I would recommend the colace and prune juice even though it smells and tastes awful I just hold my nose while I chug it down. Can't wait to poop like normal again. 7 weeks to go!

Surprisingly, the iron I've been taking doesn't have me bound up. I only take it every other day.

  • Oh good! Here it is! Ive been waiting for this thread to pop back up bc I have a question.  So, I haven't had hemorrhoids (that I know of) with this pregnancy.  Some slight blood spots on the TP every once in a while when there's an especially difficult poo, but nothing painful.  Then the other day after a normal poo, I looked at the toilet and the water was completely coated in red blood.  I freaked out thinking that I was bleeding from from the v-jay but it was def from the butt.  The next day everything was fine and has been ever since.  Anyone else experience this?

Yes!! Me too! And with 6+ more weeks to go and who knows how much bigger we'll get how the hell are we supposed to reach??

Is this using the reach between wiping method? The reach around/behind method solves this problem.

  • @izzetoot, I had that problem last pregnancy, this time I have the hemis but they don't seem to be popping so I'm not seeing as much blood. You can have internal hemis, rather than external, which would explain not seeing them but still having the bleeding issues.  As long as it's bright red (fresh blood), you should be fine.  You can try a suppository if it's uncomfortable, but other than that I'd just see how it goes and bring it up at your next OB appt.

  • Haha so I was in bad pain the other night bc I couldn't poop and was considering using an enema. Ended up finally going but while at the drug store DF just had to tell me one of his stories.
So he is a doctor in the ER and this 70ish lady comes in all backed up. She said her friend had went to another hospital and they dug her poop out with a spoon and that is what she wanted done. My DF had to walk out of the room! He has no filter and sometimes he just has to leave so he don't get himself in trouble. Needless to say he went back and have her meds and nicely told her he wasn't going to dig her poop for her!! Lol

Lol no more Mr. Softee poos... Ya know, I never thought I'd appreciate and miss my regular 4-5 healthy, soft poos every day. I do, I really do.
  • @LoHerrim‌, still stuck in the hospital so my options are limited and I have GD so I have to be careful with dried fruits. BUT if they hold me longer I'll have DH bring me some prunes. I actually like them and they work :)

@Ashes92813‌ try eating dried apricots, celery, pineapples, prunes... Lots of water. All the fiber rich foods you can get your grubby little hands on. I finally replenished my apricot stash yesterday... I got to poo today!!! Like, a lot. Whew.

  • @LoHerrim‌, I can have celery with peanut butter! That's a fantastic idea. Anything with peanut butter :) thank you!

I'm sure the opposite side of the spectrum is just as hard :(

Right? I've started to feel thankful that I have no ass because then I would be in big trouble. At least I'm able to reach from behind if I can't reach down in front.

@CherSomething‌ and @ChristineBaker23‌. I totally thought that this morning! You are not alone. Not at all. And I laughed my ass off when I read it. Not crass at all for the poo thread!

I can't twist enough to do the reach around and between the legs I feel like I suddenly have little t-Rex arms and can barely reach that way. I have the most success going between the legs while sitting. But occasionally I end up touching potty water ew! I've taken to using my daughters baby wipes to get the job done quicker, also feels good on my hemorrhoids
