Easter grumbles - what are your plans?

So it's that time of year again - another holiday centred around children to remind us of what we're missing. I'm spending the weekend with DHs family (who drive me a little nuts) but also have 2 friends who have given birth in the last 2 weeks. So visits & baby cuddles and a damn lot of strength & feigned joy will be required. How's everyone else spending their long weekend? Any struggles lying ahead?

We're spending Easter with DH's family. The only kid in the family is our 4 1/2 yr old niece. The older kids don't faze me as much...it's when I see the little babies that make me want one even more. It's supposed to be gorgeous on Sunday, so I'm pretty excited about that!

I am grateful we have close friends who are child free (by choice) and live 3 blocks from us. We spend all "children" holidays together - Easter, Mother's Day, etc. We'll either go to their place for brunch or buy some beer and wine and picnic by the lake.

We will be spending Saturday with my extended family - which includes 5 kids under the age of 7 (one cousin has 4 kids).

Sunday will be spent with DH's family, just his parents, sister & her boyfriend. No kids.

We have my one nephews birthday party the day before Easter, so Easter morning we are going to come home and relax by ourselves!!! If it's warm enough, we may spend it on our boat. Easter isn't a big celebration in my family, and I did those whole "go overboard and spoil my niece and nephew" last year...so I'm in the clear on this one!

I am hosting Easter Dinner at my house. It's a small crowd and my grandmother used to host it in the past, but she is 94 and she really needs to enjoy the holiday and not be put to work all day! Plus, we have been doing construction on our house for 1.5 years and not everyone has seen it yet, and we are almost done!

It's a huge family but everyone is all around the country. It will just be my parents, brother, grandmother, and two set of aunts and uncles and maybe a cousin or two, and maybe a few dogs. No kids. Out of my grandmothers 15-20 grandchildren (who are all between 18-34) none of us have kids. I'm sure it will be asked like every other holiday. We will see.....

I'm cooking at my house. The youngest one there will be my husband, so it's child free day. Now to deal with my batshit crazy MIL is another issue. Is it sacrilegious to hog tie your MIL and stuff her in a back bedroom????

Well, I'm a Christian so Easter is centered around Christ's resurrection for me. I think our town has an Easter egg hunt after church, but I will be working. I will be teaching my usual Sunday school class though (5th and 6th grade).

Spending time with both sides of the family. It is going to be a little rough. Love both sides but it sucks seeing all the generations and us not having an offspring yet. Hubby's family on Friday and Saturday. Only my god niece so thats good. Well that and my sister in law who is pregnant with baby #2. It will suck but I'm use to it or I may plan on drinking. Then on Sunday with my family and extended family. Lots of people and lots of kids. I'm hoping no one asks me when we are having kids. I'm expecting to be asked at least twice. Just debating on how I answer instead of my usual we are trying as we have said for 18 months.

I am dreading this Easter. I'm supposed to go to church with my in-laws (I'm an Atheist) then go to my in-law's friend's house full of small kids then that night I am supposed to go to my SIL's house full of my 6 small grand-kids. My husband and I will be the only childless couple. Let's just say I haven't 100% committed and am thinking of feigning sickness. AF is coming this weekend, and I'm already in a depressed mode :-(

Easter Sunday will be the day of our IUI as well! After we are going to my DH's aunts house for a party, where both of his pregnant cousins will be there... one announcing the gender with silly string. Awesome. Needless to say we will be going to the late church service and to this party late as well

DH has to work so we'll celebrate Easter on Saturday. Aka I'm going to whine until he does an Easter egg hunt for me and we're gonna eat some chocolate and probably take our puppy to the beach.

We are visiting our families (they are in the same town as each other) and the only thing that makes it difficult is that I really thought that we would be bringing news of a BFP. I was so convinced that everything worked this time around.

I am going to try to focus on making and bringing a nice dinner & dessert, and enjoying time with family that I haven't seen in a while.

DH and I are hosting, there are going to be about 11 of us, only kid in the mix is 12, so I don't have to worry about it being very kid-centered. I hope it's a nice day.

I took tomorrow off to have a 3 day weekend. Me and hubby are going camping for a couple of nights. Then I think Sunday we are celebrating my Bday with my DH fam cause I worked last weekend. (No kids on his side yet) Then probably easter with my family. I love my nieces and nephews to death and have so much fun with them. However my brothers GF is due in a few weeks and shes one of those who "we werent even trying and I got pregnant oops" girls (her 3rd kid). And she tries to be supportive of me but if for a sec the attention is away from her Lord smite thee lol.Maybe they wont come.... (FX lol)

@kaynix21 I told my DH about your personal Easter egg hunt and he said that is so sweet, would I like him to do that for me too?

No one in the family felt like doing anything special, so I will probably go to church with my parents then cook a simple lunch at home with them like usual on Sundays. DH is working all day.

I don't really feel like doing much special for holidays. I tell DH that we should enjoy the break now, because if/when we have kids we will need to do holidays really well for them to give them memories.

We are splitting the day between one of C's Aunt's houses and my Aunt's house. My Aunt's won't have any kids. C's...well, that's another story. Her Uncle has several kids, two of whom will shortly have two kids a piece. I'm not looking forward to it at all. About two weeks ago, I told her that I didn't even want to go. It definitely isn't going to be easy, but I'm just going to avoid them as much as possible. There will be plenty of other people there and we can only stay for a bit over an hour anyway.

DH and I decided to take a family free weekend and we will sleep in, drink coffee, and cuddle with our fur babies. We each have one (married) sibling who lives out of state, so for years we have taken most of the holidays for our in state parents, as well as a lot of general socializing, so it feels good to say that we need a weekend off.
