*UPDATE in OP* Ultrasound AW and a Cyst Question

UPDATE: I heard back from my doctor and she says the cyst is no big deal and should resolve on its own. So that's a relief. Just wanted to update in case anyone else has this, too.
I'm back from my first ultrasound! Baby is measuring right on track with my dates (6w5d) and we saw a heartbeat measuring 137 bpm. I am so thankful and relieved. 

My lab report just came through and it says: "The right ovary is unremarkable [SHOULD I BE OFFENDED? wink wink] The left ovary contains a hemorrhagic corpus luteum cyst which measures 2.7 x 2.0 x 1.7 cm."

I'm waiting for my doctor to call me to discuss the report, but does anyone have experience with a  hemorrhagic corpus luteum cyst? I had a CL cyst with my last successful pregnancy and it shrank with time and went away on its own. I don't remember anything about it being "hemorrhagic" though.

    Congrats on a great U/S!! :)  Sorry I have no advice on the cyst but I hope your Doc gets back to you soon about it!

    Awesome!  I'm so happy for you for the great first ultrasound!!  I have no advice for the cyst but I'm sure some of these other wonderful ladies will have something!

    Testing on mom and dad for possible reasons all came back normal.

    Testing results all returned normal and baby was a GIRL.
    More testing on mom and dad for other issues all returned normal results.

    Congrats on a good scan!

    I also had a CL cyst, which is normal and actually functions to support the pregnancy by creating hormones, if I understand correctly.  I think that if it is hemorrhagic, it means that the egg broke a blood vessel in the ovary causing bleeding. I had a friend with this diagnosis and her doctors said it was no problem and it resolved itself.  I would make sure that you clarify with your doctor though, obvi.

    Congrats on a great scan!!

    No advice on the hemorrhagic description. Hope your doc contacts you. The only peace of mind I can offer, is if you left the scan without speaking to a doc, that's typically a good thing.
