Silly me (Just POAS at 3dpiui)! LOL

I don't know why I did it.  Of course the test would be a (false) positive because of the HCG trigger shot that is still in my system!  Maybe I just wanted to see a plus sign (even if it was false)?  Either way, I am SMH at myself afterwards.  What a waste of a pregnancy test!  

How do you all keep yourselves sane during the 2WW?  This is my first cycle doing IUI so I wasn't prepared for how I would feel about it.  Physically I feel fine (no symptoms, maybe just a little tired).  But mentally I'm a mess.  Constantly googling pregnancy related topics and checking the Chinese conception calendar for the predicted sex of my (as of yet nonexistent) baby.  And now apparently taking pregnancy tests at a mere 3 days after my IUI.  I need to get a grip, haha.

Me 34   Him 33

Me - Left salpingo-oophorectomy at 19 due to large cyst/torsion  and 2 large uterine fibroids found at age 30
Him - Borderline low sperm count (correcting through Fertility Blend supplement)

Married 8/20/2011
TTC #1 since Jan 2013
First appointment with RE 10/2013.  
April 2014 - Clomid 100mg CD3-7.  HCG shot CD10 IUI #1 done on 4/12/14 (CD12) ....BFN
May 2014 - Break cycle to repeat saline sonogram and re-group.  Travel to Kauai 5/7-5/12 (Yay!!)
June 2014 - Clomid 150mg CD4-8.  HCG shot CD14.  IUI#2 done on 6/9 and 6/10 (CD15-16) w/ Prometrium suppositories during TWW .... BFN
July 2014 - Clomid 150mg CD3-7.  Ultrasound CD12 - 4 mature follies! HCG trigger shot CD12 AM.  IUI#3 on CD13 w/ Prometrium suppositories during TWW ....BFN
July 2014 - Repeat ultrasound done to measure size of fibroid - 8x9cm (the size of a grapefruit!) Surgery referral made.
August 2014 - MRI done which revealed 2 fibroids: a 13x15cm fibroid as well as an 8x7cm one.  Super freak out mode over surgery plan.  OB-GYN/surgeon said surgery would most likely have to be a laparotomy (open abdominal surgery)
August 2014 - After a 2nd opinion, plan to take Lupron x 2 months to shrink fibroids then laparoscopic/robotic myomectomy.  Surgery date is set for Nov 21st!  
November 2014 - Robotic myomectomy done (2 large fibroids removed, mild endo found).  Benched x 3 months

    Don't feel bad, seeing an HPT+ live and in person is a perfectly reasonable excuse!

    Having never seen one myself, I am sooo going to test after a trigger. :)

    Haha I just did a GTKY about ways to stay distracted LOL

    I write. A lot. I have written 110 pages in the last 4 months (for a novel). Escaping into my own world is the only way to keep the anxiety and stress of TTC away.

    Don't feel silly. I'm sure most of us  have taken HPT's way to early, including me ( multiple times!!!)


    To stay busy I always make sure my schedule is jammed packed after I had my IUI's.  I figured if I was always on the run or was out doing something with someone that the convo or whatever we were doing would distract me. 

    Married 8/6/2011 Me (26) DH (33) SA normal,HSG clear TTC since August 2011 7/2012 50mg Clomid+Trigger+IUI+progesterone =BFN 8/2012 100mg Clomid+estrogen+Trigger+IUI+progestrone=BFN 10/2012 100mg clomid+Gonal+Lupron+Trigger+Progestrone+IUI=BFP but ectopic.

    Definitely don't feel silly! I start POAS as soon as I think it is possible to get a reliable positive. Usually I start at 10 dpiui. As that day gets closer, it takes a lot of will power to not start early! I have done earlier just to make sure the trigger was gone.

    We've been working on baby #1 since July 2013 using Open ID donor sperm.  8 IUI attempts with 5 actual IUIs and one chemical pregnancy.  We have one fresh IVF cycle under our belts as well as a FET.  I have endometriosis and a uterine septum that was corrected via surgery in November 2013. 

    11/14/14 -  Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good. 

    12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2

    12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)

    1/2/15 - Began stimming for IVF #2

    I did this after my first IUI because I just wanted to see a positive test. I recommend your husband hide the test and peeing on qtips.

    This is the first time I've had a trigger and I most definitely have taken several IC tests just to see a positive. I don't have any advice for staying busy and not peeing on all the tests I can get my hands on...but I feel you!

    @eastbaybride508 - I have a random question for you after looking at your siggy.. have you seen any improvement in DH's numbers since taking a Fertility Blend? My husband just started taking it about 2 months ago so I'm really curious.. my DH has borderline low count and low morphology as well. Thanks!

    IUI #3 April - CD3 U/S 4-10. Letrozole, Follistim, Ovidrel CD11 - Cancelled.. TI w/5 follicles-BFN
    IUI #3.1 May - CD3 U/S 5-6, Follistim start 5-11 thru 5-17, u/s 5-18 3 mature w/ a close 4th, IUI 5-20 - BFP!
                 Beta #1 12dpo - 164 & progesterone - 89!, Beta #2 16 dpo - 1189, 5w3d - u/s shows TWINS!
                 6/19- u/s showed heartbeats! Baby A 111 & Baby B 118, both measuring 6w1d
                 7/3- Baby A hb 170, Baby B hb 166 - both measuring perfect.
                 7/18 - Baby A 165, Baby B 171 - both measuring right on track & moving all around!

    @MissEm15‌ - It did help his count. But according to the Dr there's nothing we can do about the morphology unfortunately! She advised us to just keep working on the count and hopefully that will make up for the morphology

    @eastbaybride508 Thank you!! That's exactly why I got the Fertility Blend to up his count to make up for the low morph. I hope we get the same response on our IUI this weekend! Just curious.. did it go up a little or a lot? Do you remember the bf/after post wash numbers by chance?

    @MissEm15‌ It's hard to say how much it went up because we got it done at the Dr's office first time and then the 2nd time was when we dropped off the sample to be processed for IUI. The Dr office lab and the reproductive science lab use different scales of what is considered normal. Pre fertility blend he was at around 10,500 and then it went up to 18,000. That looks like a great improvement but it's hard to say how much it really went up since its based on 2 different scales. Definitely confusing! Our NP who did my IUI on Sat said he should continue taking it for now.

    FX for you too! Let's hope this path leads us to a BFP very soon!!

    Oh my goodness this sounds JUST like me. I try and say I just want to make sure the HCG shot really got in my system, but I really just kinda like seeing the positive test. Thanks ladies for making me feel normal!
