Cruelty Free Products

Which ladies are cruelty free or trying to go that way?

What products do you LOVE or hate?

I am in the middle of switching all of our products over, have been for about 6 months now. My goal is to be 100% cruelty free by 2015.

THANKS!!!!

  • I did get the I want to say Toms brand deodorant I actually found it at Walmart (this is big for me since Walmart is my closer store vs Target) and I have to say as skeptical as I was, I don't hate it. Now that the 120 degree weather is coming lets just all pray it really holds up to the heat ;)

we already use a lot of Burt's Bees, California Baby, Toms, Badger Naturals.....
The deodorant I was scared to switch over.

I have been using a lot of vinegar/water/lemon mixture to clean with lately. The smell is not so great but it does do the job and its better for the environment.

Have you found a good toothpaste option at all?
  • I will have to get the Tom's toothpaste next. I tried a brand a few months ago I forget the brand name but it was like eating grit....nasty.
  • I make a lot of my own stuff but for personal care stuff I like Lush (for fancy stuff), Thayers witch hazel for my face (and for baby butts and everything else), Burt's Bees shampoo.

I reference Wellness Mama for DIY a lot, and PETA for cruelty-free brands.

  • Lush = winning!  Toms deod = it did NOT work for me!  And I don't sweat that much.  It had a weird smell to it.  I do always go with unscented.  And I'm following this thread because I'm very interested in this!
Yeah, I kind of didn't want to say it but Tom's deodorant didn't work for me either -- I felt like it actually intensified the BO, if that makes any sense.  But everybody's body chemistry is different, so it may work well for you, Cambury.

  • I haven't sweated in it yet, if that made sense. Its been cold weather. We will see what happens when the 80 and up come.

For LO I use Nature's Baby Organics Shampoo & Body Wash. It's cruelty free and vegan as well as receiving a score of 1 from EWG skin deep as being significantly less toxic than most baby products.

ETA: I will also second products from lush as well

  • For myself and the kids I use a ton of Burt's bees. I use their shampoo, face wash, and baby bee stuff. I also use toms toothpaste, but was afraid to try the deodorant. I will have to try it! And I use method cleaning supply stuff.

  • @hercules03‌ me too!
I do use Honest co, lush, and seventh generation but not for the bathroom.
I need ALL the bleach. It's my OCD
If it doesn't smell like bleach in my bathroom it's not clean
  • micino I sadly used to be that way with bleach as well.....Until I seen how they tested the toxic levels of it. I won't tell you because its not my place but if you ever wonder you can ask me or you can look online. It is really sad. If your a dog lover it will make you cry.
  • Ok what's up with dogs and bleach?
    :::::off to google::::;;
  • We use Honest Co products for us, baby, cleaning, etc. Love them! And love that on Monday I can say I want them sooner, and on Wednesday they are on my doorstep!

  • I've been trying to go natural for cleaning and personal care (have yet to switch deodorant or toothpaste) I've made my own household cleaning products (all purpose cleaner, dish soap, floor cleaner, etc.) and laundry detergent. Although I'm not sure if the ingredients to make the laundry detergent are cruelty free. I'll have to check that out.
I use Burt's bees and Baby Ganic products for LO. I was using California baby but they added sodium benzonate to their products do I won't be buying them any more.
I'm still looking for a bug spray and sunscreen for LO and myself. I'm thinking about trying honest co.
