Has anybody traveled (flying) since moving LO to WCM?

We have a couple trips coming up in the next couple months (one to Mexico and one domestic).  I am getting nervous about how to ensure DS gets WCM.  Before it was easier with breastmilk because I didn't have to pack anything or worry about not having any when we get to our destination.  I'm just not sure how this is going to work now with the WCM.  Do I just buy some at the destination?

  • @Pinkie78 - the out of country place is a touristy resort too.  I didn't know if they would have WCM.  I do hope so!

  • Maybe get some of the toddler formula? Then you just need water to mix it.

Now you have me a little worried. I'm going to google :). We are going to an all inclusive in the DR.

Have fun ladies! I work in the travel industry and I just want to give you a quick heads up about DR (you might already know this, but it's something I always tell my clients). Make sure you do not use the tap water in your room for consumption. Most resorts filter the water used in cooking and ice, but do not filter their tap. They generally provide bottled water even to brush your teeth with.
    Enjoy the sun!
  • Good! And this might be a totally silly tip, but it helped us in St.Lucia.... You know those first aid crack packs? I always buy a few of them and stick them in my bag when we travel. This way, if we're out in the heat (even shaded), I can crack one, press it against the back of the babe (or my neck) for a little refresher. She was never in direct sun, but it was a lifesaver when waiting for the little shuttle around the resort! I was also BF at the time, and they were great to keep a bottle cool.
  • What about the ultra high temp pasteurized milk that doesn't need to be refrigerated until opened? I flew with ds1 when he was 17months old. I gave him a baby bottle of water to help his ears during takeoff and landing. He was milk intolerant so milk wasn't an issue for us then.

I have looked for the small boxes of Horizon milk, but my grocery stores don't carry the boxes in WCM. Maybe I will look on line.
