Pregnant after a Loss

Looking at baby strollers...

and I'm leaning towards a Chico.  It has mixed reviews on the heaviness of the infant car seat.  I had a Babytrend infant seat with dd, but I didn't like the puzzle pieces you had to put together before you snapped them between the legs.  Anyone have a Chico?  Or heard anything that could help with making my decision?  Is it really that heavy, or is it about average?

Re: Looking at baby strollers...

  • We have the Chicco travel system and I like it. It's not the lightest on the market but I don't find it super heavy and I can open and close it with one hand without a problem.

  • We went with the chicco. I have hear awesome things about the brutal system as well and if we didn't already have the chicco (can't return it because carseat is from first pregnancy), I honk we would have chosen that one. It is very light and user friendly as well and on even pa with the safety rating. GL!

All AL always welcome in my threads!

  • I have a Chicco that I use with my DD. Love it. The infant seat is awesome. My mom bought the britax, and I like my chicco so much better. We have the travel system and the stroller is great too. The only drawback is that it isn't light.
  • I don't know much about this brand. However my sister in law had a carrier and it was really heavy to carry. Also make sure that it can attach or sit properly on the seat of the cart. Hers didn't and was a pain in the butt. Good luck!

  • We had a Chicco Keyfit 30 carseat and a CitiMini stroller. We loved the combo, and the CitiMini is super lightweight and easy to fold, and the carseat was easy to attach.

You don't mean a shopping cart, do you? You're not supposed to put an infant seat in the top part of a shopping cart.

I read it as not attaching properly to the stroller base.

I hope so. If you get the travel system it will obviously attach but if you get a different stroller, definitely try it out or make sure they fit beforehand! We were limited in the double stroller we could get that our Chicco infant seat would fit in. We ended up ordering one online because BRU didn't have any that were compatible. With one of them, the sales lady was like, "Well, you could put a bungee cord around it" and I was like, um, no.

Right? I'm totally going to secure my newborn into a stroller with a bungee cord.

  • I loved the snap and go so much with our carseat that the only stroller I want now is a sit and stand snap and go... I know it doesn't last THAT long, but it's awesome when it does!

For the record, I also have a chicco travel system, a BOB jogging stroller, a graco double stroller (hand me down), and several umbrella strollers...

  • We had the Chicco Keyfit 30 for DD.  It was heavy but you know what, that seat is going to be protecting the life of my daughter if I got in an accident so I didn't care.  The fact that we could have two bases and not have to buy an entire other seat was nice, too.

And a bungee cord?  Seriously?  Wow.

I also had the Chicco keyfit 30.  It got awesome reviews for safety which is why I selected it. I guess it was a bit heavy looking back but that wasn't a huge deal for me.  We have the Uppa Baby Vista stroller (it's a pricey stroller but we both loved it) and we bought the attachment for the keyfit so they worked together.
