January 2014 Moms

Hoyt. why you no likey your mommy?

No sleep.
Pulling and twisting my nipples.
Rather be social and snack than eat.
Becomes hangry.

Thank goodness he already has a future wife, or he'd never find one with these bad habits.

What are your babies doing to spite you?

Re: Hoyt. why you no likey your mommy?

  • Mine is doing the social/snacking thing regularly these days and she thinks she is sooo funny.

She's also having temper tantrums every evening. It makes picking her up from daycare so interesting, because you never know what you're going to get.

  • Not sleeping bc she eats all night. Not eating a whole lot during the day but still being super sweet and smiley so I can't be annoyed she doesn't sleep.

  • Mine hates the car, the car seat and anything that is not entertaining her every moment. She screams on the way to the store, on the way home, on the way to the sitter, on the way home, on the way to my SILs house TWO HOURS AWAY. SCREAMING like I am poking her eyes out with flaming pokers. How do I know it's the car seat? Because after listening to scream for an hour I pulled over, got ready to change her diaper and the minute I took her out she was all smiles and coos. Grrrrrrrrrrrr

Maybe there is something about the car seat that is bugging her. Maybe it's too tight or holds her head at a funny angle or something like that. Just something to consider.
  • I gave birth to an insomniac. She has started to refuse naps during the day. She'll literally nap for 30 minutes at a time, if I'm lucky. Today, she hardly slept at all but would wake up and smile, stick out her tongue, and be like, "What up, Mom? Let's play!"

Hopefully this will translate into sleeping well tonight? One can only hope...

  • Isaac is still waking up more than five times a night. I expected it since Lincoln did the same thing but I had high hopes that they would be different. Isaac is huge compared to what Lincoln was so I doubt he really needs all the night calories. But then again that is probably why he is huge because of all the extra night nursing.

I would love for it to drop to twice a night nursing at this point, please Isaac?

  • DD will wait until H leaves the room or the house or is sleeping to poop. He's very willing to do diaper changes if he's there but she will just not cooperate with pooping around him!

We thought of that! Except she doesn't cry for the sitter when she's in her car and the other kids are with her. I also tried loosening the straps a bit. And DH readjusted so she sits upright.

  • I have to say, Brennon has been pretty damn agreeable lately. Happy, eating well, taking nice long naps, sleeping through the night.

I just totally fucked myself by admitting that, didn't I?

Yep. Opening it up to the universe!

  • L is doing all of these things as well! Not sleeping, snacking, awake all of the time, but definitely super cute. He is all smiles and giggles these days. He also has decided he doesn't like bending at the waist when I try to put him in a sitting position. He stretches out his legs as straight as they will go. He just wants to stand I guess.

Anna has been a 30 minute napper since she was born. The only way I can get her to go longer, is if I'm holder her, and have my boob in her mouth. Luckily she is pretty good at night!

  • DD has been sleeping through the night. I am talking 8-12 hour stretches! I have an interview this morning for a job I really really want. She decided to wake up at 2am. I normally just bring her in our bed, nurse her and she falls asleep. Well...she was a distracted nurser and kept unlatching and relatching. Lets just say its 6am and she still hasn't been back to sleep. Out of allll the nights to choose from, she took THIS night to wake up and stay up!

    thank goodness for coffee!

  • @ChuggingWater‌ I could've written your OP. I think I've gotten two hours of sleep plus whatever dozing off I've done. I've sat on the couch holding DD because it's the only way she'll sleep. Cries within ten minutes of being put down. She may be teething and if so I may shoot myself before that first tooth actually erupts.

Oh dear Lord, THIS. He will not take bottles consistently, even when he's hungry. Then he gets so worked up about being pissed at the bottle that he won't even want to nurse.

  • Falling asleep when mom needs him to eat, pulling at nipples with his crazy flailing 9sp?) arms, & then taking his sweet a$$ time eating only when we are already runing 20 minutes late.

Doing it all with a smile too, so I can't get mad. I only wish I could just stay there instead of go to work.

  • DD made a complete fool of me this AM. She has been a total grouchasaurus since Sunday when the thrush in her neck really started to irritate her. Kept her home from daycare yesterday to go back to the pedi to follow up and because she would SCREAM as soon as you even made a motion similar to putting her down.

I get to school, start talking to her teacher saying that if she gets grumpy when her Tylenol wears off, just call me and I will come get her. Of course when I get her out of her seat she's all happy and chatty with her teacher like the last 2 days (and horrible 4 nights) didn't even happen. Her Tylenol wore off 2 hours ago and I haven't heard a word. They prbly think she just hates me.

  • DS has decided he NEEDS his left arm to be touching his face even though he does not sleep or fall asleep when not swaddled. He also enjoys trying to stand up whenever I burp him as he sits across my leg so I now have taken to clamping his lower legs between mine to keep him from standing. Other than that he's a happy go lucky little guy!

btw have you tried @kaitimac's crib trick?  Ask her about it if you haven't
@MarBee1214‌ I saw it, but haven't tried it. He is in the PNP in our room still.

His biggest issue last night was that the diaper changes woke him up and he wouldn't go back to sleep.

Our entire routine is thrown off this week because we have church Thursday and Friday. Tomorrow work dinner. I just want to crawl in a hole until he starts sleeping.

I'm so glad it's not just us! Yesterday when I put him in his little bumbo seat thingy he stretched his legs out like this and was just a giggling and laughing away. He's lucky he's so darn cute!
