Hives!!!!!!

Has anyone had any experience with hives? We live on long island,ny and the past week it has been very warm and the pollen count has been incredibly high. On Wed and Thurs my dd was outside a ton and walking, crawling and playing all over the grass. Thursday night i noticed small and large hives on her belly. After taking her to the dr Fri morning he thinks it was a reaction from the "contact" with grass, pollen etc... He said small doses of benydryl for 3-5 days every six hrs and by then they should go away. Well they haven't they get better at night and reappear during the day. We are going back to dr tomorrow but is this something thats common that they keep coming back? Its not as bad as the 1st day but i would think they would go away not reaapear? We haven't had any changes such as new foods or detergents so i know its not that but i'm going crazy!!!!!!! Anyone had this happen to their child where they go away and come back? Any advice, thoiughts or imput would be appriciated :)

    Have you tried oatmeal baths, Benadryl cream or hydracortisone?

    Yes, my DS had hives on and off for two-weeks with no apparent cause.  The pediatrician gave me a list of what to watch for and when to check back in.  Thankfully the hives never bothered my son and eventually went away.
