How are you doing? Well we had an exciting weekend. The daycare called on Friday to tell me PJ had a fever. I picked her up and called the doctor to get her seen later that afternoon. She took a nap at home and before we left for the doctor, I took her temp again. 104! WTH?!! She was miserable and they immediately gave her Ibu to bring the fever down. Tested for strep, negative. Tested for flu, negative. Checked out her ear, and said it's probably just an ear infection. Antibotics and sent us home. So we decided not to go out of town after all since we didn't want a sick baby in the car for 4 hours. She was still a mess over the weekend and cranky as hell! She was so mad on Saturday that she was standing next to her toy horse, screaming and rocking it back and forth that she actually took at tumble over the top of it! OMG!! Now she has an awful bruise on her cheek! Ack! I'm suddenly feeling like the worst mother ever! Then we went to the dog park to get her outside, and I get some sort of food poisoning and get sick there! Jeez! Well everybody is finally happy and back to normal today.
Any Milestones? Nope, too busy being sick!
Challenges? I feel like I'm runing out of ideas of what to feed her. We're actually doing well, but I feel like it's always the same thing. Breakfast is either potato and egg mix or toast with jelly and banana. We do fruit pouches, string cheese, yogurt, and goldfish for snacks. Lunches or dinners are Gerber ravioli or homemade chicken and rice. I just need more ideas.
Cute/ funny stories? We went to the store on Saturday and got her an armchair, and she loved it! She sat in the store on her favorite one and tried out a few others. We went with her choice, but she screamed and cried when we tried to buy it because she wanted to sit in it again. It was really cute! And now every time we walk past it in the living room, she cries because she wants to sit in it. I'm glad she likes it because that thing was not cheap!
QOTW- What are your plans for this coming weekend? Celebrating Easter or Passover? Just hanging out? We're going to see my family this weekend. My mother said that she'll buy her Easter basket, so I'm excited that she can walk around and find eggs with her cousins. I read somewhere that a good way to do group egg hunts is to assign the kids a color, and they have to find all of the eggs in that one color. That way there's not one kid that runs around and grabs them all before the little ones get a chance. I'm hoping my family will go with this idea too.

How are you doing? Doing good! Had a great but busy weekend! Worked the farmer's market and did a catering job Saturday, and Sunday went to church and then did a bunch of yard work/ played outside. It was absolutely gorgeous here (Eastern PA) this past weekend, with temps in the high 70's- I think it actually hit 80 on Sunday- and tons of sunshine! Our garden is ready to be rototilled and then planted, which will happen this coming weekend. This time of year makes me so happy!
Any Milestones? If you count eating dirt as a milestone, then yep, Ben ate dirt this Sunday. I believe he was "taste testing" the soil in our garden to make sure it was ready for planting, lol! Other than that, he is learning how to go down stairs. He's *almost* there. He can also now say "car" and "truck." They come out as "ka" and "guck" but he uses them appropriately.
Challenges? Tantrums. I go back and forth between getting frustrated by them and wanting to laugh at them. I am also trying not to say NO a million times a day, but it's SO hard. He is so curious and just into everything... and fast! Especially when he knows he's getting into something he shouldn't be, lol!
Cute/ funny stories? This past Sunday at church, Ben was fascinated by the palms. He kept trying to eat ours, lol! He got really excited during the sermon and let out a fairly loud shout of excitement and a giggle, and our pastor responded by saying "Amen, child! Glad to hear someone so excited by my sermon!" which elicited quite a bit of laughter from the whole congregation.
QOTW- What are your plans for this coming weekend? Celebrating Easter or Passover? Just hanging out? Typical Saturday of work at the market, and then I think we'll take Ben to get his picture taken with the Easter Bunny afterwards. Hopefully he doesn't freak out. Sunday is church, and then we're going to my uncle's house in NJ for dinner. My uncle and aunt are Ben's Godparents, so it will be great to see them!
@andreashields- WOW, glad you are all feeling better again. That sounds awful. You'll have to use a pic of PJ in her new chair for BPF this week!
ETA- I'm feeling you on the being stuck in a food rut. Even though if I really think about it, Ben gets a good variety of stuff, I feel like it's always the same thing. I've looked on Pinterest, but I just don't have time for some of the stuff on there.
How are you doing? I'm still sick, I've been coughing for about a week now and yesterday DS started being extra clingy and moody. His eye started oozing a little yellowish stuff last night and today my Mom calls me and says he's been tugging at his ears and very irritable. Joy...we are heading to the doctor at 2:30 this afternoon.
Any Milestones? No new ones here recently.
Challenges? Same old go go go, he go go go's all the time. Always into something and usually something he shouldn't be in. I just lectured DH this AM about leaving coins on the end table and his pocket knife....pretty much everything needs to go up high.
QOTW- What are your plans for this coming weekend? Celebrating Easter or Passover? Just hanging out? Saturday we are going to color easter eggs and do some baking with my MIL and her Mom and sister, that should be a lot of fun! Sunday we have Easter at my brothers at Noon and then at the IL's house at 2:30pm. That's a lot of food....in two hours! I'm looking forward to the big egg hunt, DS has been practicing around our yard!

Hi ladies! I'm doing good this week. This weekend was beautiful so we spent a lot of time outside. DH got DD a bubble mower, which she loves! She ran around the yard with it the whole weekend. I need to make more bubble solution for her already! He also found an old cozy coupe car that he's going to repaint for her to match my VW Beetle. I love it when he's motivated to do stuf! Lol
Challenges: DD self wean about three weeks ago, but now for the past couple days she's been asking to nurse again. I'm not sure what to do. I was bummed at first when she weaned, but I recognized that it was time to move on. Now that she's asking again I feel bad denying her, but I guess I'm more ok with being done than I thought. She wants to nurse when she's hungry, so I've been offering her a snack each time and she's been fine with that. I guess I just feel bad saying no to something that was such a huge part of our lives for so long.
Cute story: DD got to meet Daniel Tiger this weekend! I was afraid that she might be scared when she saw him, but she did awesome. She pointed to him and said "Dan!" with a big smile. When it was our turn to take a picture she was just kind of mesmerized, but she walked right up to him and stood beside him. She even gave him a hug and waved bye! Omg it melted my heart!
QOTW: We did a small Easter egg hunt this past weekend and DD really enjoyed it. Saturday night we're going to attempt church. We don't go a lot and I don't know how I'm going to keep her still and semi-quite for that long! Any tips??? Sunday we're driving down to the IL's for lunch and to hang out.

Hey! I'm doing ok. Things are a bit better around here. DS hasn't been throwing quite as many temper tantrums, but I know they'll come back soon.
Milestones: nothing really- got his 18month vaccinations- did great, no crying at all. He is 50th percentile for his weight and 90th for his height. No idea where he gets his height from! Challenges: I need to find new daycare for next year. My current sitter is just pregnant, so she won't be watching him. I've phoned a few places, but feel like nothing really suits our style of parenting.
Cute Stories: DS now grabs his milk out of the fridge and takes my hand and drags me his bedroom when he wants to go to bed. THen we read a story while drinks his milk and he lays down and goes to sleep. This coming from a kid 4 weeks ago who needed me to rock and rock him before he would fall asleep. Or at least hold him and sing to him. Not sure what changed, but I guess my little boy is growing up!
QOTW: We will be doing Easter at the in-laws Friday, and then at my parents Sunday. I think I'll put together a smal Easter Egg hunt for DS and DH to do on Sunday before going to my parents.
How are you doing? Any Milestones? Challenges? Cute/ funny stories? Doing okay. We're not really dealing with any milestones or challenges at the moment, fortunately. Just still trying to prep DS for the arrival of his little brother and hoping he is happy about it
QOTW- What are your plans for this coming weekend? Celebrating Easter or Passover? Just hanging out? We will be celebrating Easter. Saturday, my IL's are hosting a lunch and egg hunt at their house and then Sunday we'll be going to church and then over to my aunt/uncle's house for lunch with my family. I am very excited to give DS his Easter basket as well! Supposedly, he has an egg hunt and an Easter party at school on Friday as well.
Hello Ladies! We are doing well, although work is very busy. I am a teacher and have tons of essays to grade, but I just had to check in!
Milestones - A now has 7 teeth and I think an 8th one is on the way. She is almost running, can climb up stairs and is learning how to go down! She is also transitioning well to WCM.
Challenges - The teething is definitely messing with her sleep. We had 5 glorious nights of uninterrupted sleep, but now we are back to 1-2 times a night waking. A also is fighting us on the transition to sippy cups and shows little interest in regular food. She will eat popsicles, yogurt and bread, but won't try anything else I put in front of her so we are still doing purees.
Cute/Funny - Yesterday I took her for her 12 mo shots and as soon as she saw the nurse she wanted me to pick her up and she just cuddled in. It was so sweet, but also funny to see her reaction to the nurse.
QOTW - We will go to brunch but that is about it. My mom's neighbors are doing an Easter Egg Hunt for the cul de sac and invited Miss A. Not sure she will be too excited, but we will see.

Apologies for only checking in periodically. Sometimes it is hard given DSs delays to read of kids way younger doing things he doesnt. I have to be in the right mindset to open the thread, if that makes sense.
We are super busy. DS is at a new pre-school and is doing great. He loves it there, especially the big school busses (it is at an elementary school). I love that there are SN trained teachers and the student:teacher ratio is 2:1, max. He needs that level of interaction. DH is back from deployment and I am 37 weeks with baby girl today. We have a lot going on, lol.
Milestones: Pretty sure he is cutting his last molar. Hallelujah!!! Wish i wasnt mobile or i would gif the shit out of that statement.
Cute story: In the last week he has started bringing us his shoes when he wants to go outside. So nice to see him making those connections. He is doing things like that à lot, but that is one that stands out. Its great except for when we cant let him play outside and he throws à fit.
