Success after IF

Shampoo?

When did you start using shampoo on your LO?  E is still using the Aveeno baby wash head to toe.  I love the way it smells (I'm that creepy mom that still sniffs her baby's head while rocking her to sleep at night... at almost 2!) it seems to work well, and doesn't seem to bother her in any way.  Is there a reason to switch to actual shampoo?
And while we're at it... how often do you bathe your LO at what age, and how often do you wash their hair?  TIA!

We still use the head to toe wash and I hadn't even thought about when to stop! Good question. We bathe every other night and wash their hair at each bath. Any less than that and their hair gets super oily/ sweaty. Any more and their skin gets flaky.

    ETA: They are 18.5 mos.

We still use the Aveeno head to toe wash, too.  Normally, DS gets a bath every other day and we wash his hair every bath.  But now that he's outside a lot more and he tends to get really sweaty, we're doing every day.

  • I'm so glad to hear we aren't the only ones doing EOD unless she gets particularly dirty.  Haha.  Her skin is just so sensitive, and she gets all dry if we do it more often.
Sounds like we're doing just fine.  Thanks for the feedback.

  • G is the same age as E. We still use the all in one soap + shampoo. He is messy and loves to be outside in the dirt, so he usually has a bath every night. On the weekends I will skip one night if he is clean enough.

  • We also still use a head to toe version. They have a toddler one made by dial. It's so much easier and convenient. I say use it as long as you can/want. We usually bathe DS everyday but more for routine/fun sake...well, and he does get pretty dirty. But I know plenty of moms though who do EOD or more.

  • The kids get in the tub every night but I only use soap/shampoo 2-3x a week. We still use baby shampoo for the most part but I use head and shoulders on DS's cradle cap. It was resistant to every baby cradle cap shampoo. The biggest reason for baby shampoo is the tear free part according to our pedi.

DS is three, and we still use California Baby wash on him. Real shampoo can sting your eyes so to me it makes sense to wait until he is older and can keep the shampoo out of his eyes. He gets dirty playing so we wash him every day. I still only use soap all over K&A twice a week. Now that we are playing outside I do wash their hands with soap every night. This summer when they are outside in shorts and short sleeves I will probably start to wash them with soap every day too.

Lo is 7.5 months and showers 2x a day and prob takes a bath 2-3x a week. She is the messiest eater I have ever seen she manages to get food in her hair everytime even if just eating a Cheerio. We use either natures way baby or honest body wash all over. The only reason to switch is for a conditioner or if their hair is very curly or something and needs something else. We don't use body wash every time unless she is so gross we can't get it off with water.

  • We still use the all over wash (different kinds - the new one Aquaphor makes is super gentle for my sensitive skinned LOs) for all of them. The twins are 11 months and DS1 is almost 3. I don't really think there's any need to switch if the all over wash is working well for E. They all get baths every other day (all together if I can swing it!) and I wash their hair each time they are bathed.

  • Aveeno right now, but we received so much of it as shower gifts so I'll use whatever was given to us before buying it. I haven picked a brand yet because they all smell so good!

We bathe him EOD now, but everyday if he has a cold. I think once he starts wearing sunblock everyday in the summer we will give him a bath everyday.

  • We use Aveeno head to toe and give my son a bath twice a week.  At first it seemed like too long in between but it was at the advice of our pedi - my son has extremely sensitive skin and he was really breaking out and drying out and this has worked.  I still will wash him down in between but not a bath.  We wash his hair at bath time too.

IVF #2 has given me my beautiful baby boy - Aiden born 08/20/2013. IVF cycle coming up for baby #2 - in May 2014.  ER - 05/12/14 - Retrieved 11 eggs and 8 fertilized with ICSI.  ET - 05/15/14 - transferred 3 beautiful embryos and praying for a cycle like we had with my son.  Hoping for some frosties from this cycle and we will know 05/17/14 if they made it to freeze.  Beta is scheduled for 05/26/14 (Memorial Day) - will probably go to the lab on 05/27/14.

  • I use sunscreen on any of DS's exposed skin every day, so he gets a bath with soap every night. My favorite is Mustella.

I'd only switch to shampoo if 1) he had a ton of hair (sadly, no) and 2) he was old enough to keep the soap out of his eyes.
