I have seen that many of you have had your 9mo appt and that the recommendation was to reduce or stop MOTN feedings. I had the same.
The thing is, LO is over the growth graph both in weight and height but still the nurse told me that BF was keeping him 'fat' and for him to go into the average weight I need to reduce feedings to 3 per day!!! WTF?!? I feed with on demand which is around 6-7 times per day. He does eat solids quite well.
Also, this is not a dr. and I don't have a pedi because you don't get to see one unless LO is really sick. So... WWYD? I tried reducing to 5 feedings yesterday, he didn't seem to care and I substituted one feeding with water which he (surprisingly) drank but I don't want him to have a problem with liquids intake!
I am so confused, she also said that MOTN feedings should be completely gone because otherwise it will become a bad habit to eat during night. I tried to put him back to sleep without feeding last night and he looked at me, smiled and pull himself up in his crib... I couldn't left him there because I knew he would melt down the moment I stepped away without giving his precious milk!
Sorry it became more like a vent, I just don't know what to do. Also, she said I have to sleep-train him for DC (he will start in 3 months from now) and he does not go to sleep without help. Does you LO goes to sleep by him/herself? Does s/he sleep well at DC?

Re: 9 months appt... question!
There are three reasons for breast-feeding: the milk is always at the right temperature; it comes in attractive containers; and the cat can't get it. ~Irena Chalmers
