Did anyone have one of these? What was the reason?

My doctor wrote a slip for one, because we aren't sure if ( based on DH's birthweight) this baby is big or not. It will help me to figure out whether to induce.

I was just wondering if there were other reasons for getting this. I really thought my 20 week ultrasound would be my last.

I had this because I had shoulder dystocia with my son and they want to keep an eye on the size of subsequent babies.

I've been measuring 3-4 weeks ahead so I had ultrasounds at 34 and 38 weeks.

My dr gives all patients a growth/ fluid check ultrasound at 36 w it's protocol at my office

I did one for positioning at 36w and the doctor tacked on a weight check. It was pretty much dead on, she was estimated at 7lbs during the ultrasound and came out five weeks later at 9.5lbs, the half a pound of gain a week they were expecting (and I was dreading).

My 36w US estimated my daughter would weigh 7.5lbs at 39w, my induction date. She came 5 days before planned induction and weighed 7lbs4oz.

Had one at 36 weeks for measuring big. US said small baby that would weigh 6-7lbs at 40 weeks. Well she's here at 40+7 and weighs 8lbs13oz.

My doctor did one today but warned me that sometimes insurance won't pay for them even though I've been measuring ahead in fundal height. I should have passed because she measured 7lb11oz at 38 weeks and it could be wrong. But its nice to know my fluid is great and she in position.

I had one today at 40 weeks (Was 7 lbs 8 oz). I have gestational diabetes and gestational hypertension. My last was supposed to be at 37 weeks, but my conditions are both well-managed so far and I could wait on induction if baby's growth and my other tests were still on target.

Gestational diabetes means I've had 2 weekly scans since 28 weeks

One more question, did they give you an estimate during your ultrasound or did you have to wait for your doctor to provide that?

The tech told me immediately. I actually ended up telling my doctor the weight from the ultrasound.

I had one today due to gestational diabetes. The tech told me what his estimated weight is (8.2 t 38+2). I will have to have another one if I am still pregnant in two weeks
