Water breaking

It seems like a lot of A14 moms have experienced their water breaking spontaneously, which I thought was not the norm. So I'm curious to know...

I'm hoping that mine will rupture before I go L&D....sure sign would be nice. As of right now I am having lots of achy pains....and I'm confused as to what is what!

I thought I was having another session of false labor since contractions were inconsistent. I was walking to the bathroom to empty my bladder when I had a contraction and felt a pop. Still went to the restroom and had a massive gush right after I peed.

Mine broke spontaneously during labor, at about 5cm. Hilariously, the nurses were trading shifts and she was telling the new nurse that I was "intact" when I felt a pop and told her I wasn't. They got a kick out of that.

I voted my midwife broke it even though she did not bc I think you're asking if it broke to start labor. Mine did not break until I was 10 and started pushing.

mine was broken in the hospital by my midwife with kiddo, but spontaneously broke at home on the toilet with tessa. i'm one of each.

I thought it was uncommon for the water breaking to be the first sign of labor but not necessarily uncommon for it to break spontaneously during labor. I'm hoping mine will break on its own but not until I'm at the hospital and someone else will clean up the mess

My OB broke it both times, but with dd2 it was an induction.

With DS1 it broke on my 3rd push, with DS2, my OB broke it when I started pushing.

With my first pregnancy, my water broke on its own. I was actually folding laundry at home and it happened before the onset of labor. When I got to the hospital, my labor was augmented with pitocin.

With my second pregnancy, my water did not break on its own. The doctor broke it when I was 9cm dilated... 20 minutes later I was pushing and 30 minutes later I had a baby in my arms!

At the start of this (second pregnancy) I wished that my water would break again this time around... after going through it, having my water broken while I was already in labor was totally fine and maybe even preferable.

My water breaking was my first labor symptom with #1 and #3. It broke at home after about 4 hrs of irregular contrax with #2. DH was reading up on it and apparently, women with posterior cervixes (that's me!) often have their water break early. So glad my OB gave me the green light on laboring at home for 24 hrs if it did break early and was clear. With #3, it broke at 10:45pm and she was delivered at 10:39pm the following night. That could've easily ended up in a c/s with any other OB if I had been stuck in a hospital bed with monitors (I'm VBAC) for that long.

I was about to be checked in Triage and my water broke. It felt like my LO kicked me really hard but then my water started coming out. It turns out i was fully complete.

With DS water broke at home and with DD it broke spontaneously during my induction.

Looks like it's pretty 50/50. But I guess I was confused, that the unusual version of water breaking is spontaneously before the onset (or signaling the onset) of labor. But it still seems like I've read this scenario in a lot of A14 birth stories.

With both labors, my water breaking at home was my first sign of labor- no contractions or any other early labor prior.

I labored for 30 hours before my water broke on its own at the hospital at 7cm dilated

I got to the hospital before my water broke, but they didn't break it when I got in which I thought was interesting

It broke probably a 1/2 hour or so before it was time for me to push.

I remember telling the doctors that either my water just broke or I was peeing all over myself, lol

Also the feeling was strange, it felt like a hard kick to the pelvis then a Gush of water- that is one part of labor I was glad I got to experience ( the rest, not so much)

I got up to go to the bathroom at night and had a small gush each time I stood. That was the start of it but I made no progress, no contractions etc. The rest was broken by my OB the next morning to try to get things going before we resorted to pitocin. So I guess I'm hall & half?

Mines like half and half. It broke spontaneously coming back from the bathroom in L&D after a bloody show, it was a major gush, like I soaked the bed. Later on during labor the dr broke another bag.
