I mentioned in the post about how we don't get too much crime in my city, etc. well today we had our biggest mass murder in our city's history. I am so sad. 5 sets of parents are going through tonight what no parents should ever go through. And the offenders parents are heart broken too. His Dad is a decorated 30 year police officer. They, the parents, already made a statement. No info yet except a law student went to a Bermuda shorts party and stabbed 5 students to death. No criminal history, so far no talk of mental illness. Good looking guy, looks like a good family, successful. Rumour even that he was coho sting the party. I am so confused and sad. Happened just off campus of the university my husband works at. He called and said people are stunned. Our good friend taught composition to one of the victims, he was a talented musician and in a local band. Ugh, thought my city wouldn't be touched by this stuff but it's everywhere.

    I'm so sorry.....such a tragic story, and I can only imagine how sick it has to make you feel being that close to home. It's downright unbelievable sometimes the world we live in. :(

    Oh no. I remember you saying someone was abducted near you but I didn't hear that she was killed.

    There have been a lot of horrible things in the news this week. 1 year anniversary of the Boston marathon bombing, shootings, stabbings... It's all so scary.

    I bet it was the same one I'm thinking about.  Was she just picked up on a street where neighbors were out and they tried to chase after him, but lost him?  God that tore up my heart!

    OP - I'm sorry.  I hate that these things seems to be happening weekly

    My husband just got home. The university is basically shut down. He stayed for a last minute pulled together vigil. It's just so shocking. I want to keep DD in a bubble forever.
