    1. I am 33 weeks today! If I do end up with a scheduled c-section at 39 weeks, that means we will be having a baby 6 weeks from today. Holy crap.

    2. My wife took this week off from work, and she is trying to get the vast majority of remaining house projects (including finishing the playroom and the nursery) done. I am very glad about this, and I hope that she is able to be super productive all week and whip things into shape. My ability and motivation to help her with remaining projects feels relatively diminished right now, and I just want everything done!

    3. I made a dinner menu for this week to try to force us to cook Mon-Thurs and reward ourselves with a non-home-cooked meal on Friday night. I cooked last night, so that is a decent start. Here's hoping I stick to the menu/plan for the rest of the week!

    4. The weather was SOOO nice here this weekend. It was in the upper 70s on Saturday and low 80s on Sunday. I haven't worn a coat since last Friday. It is fantastic! However, we are getting a giant rain storm today and with it a cold front that will bring temperatures back down into the 30s tonight. They are even talking snow flurries for tonight/early tomorrow. Yuck.

    5. I feel like I was relatively productive this weekend and I am feeling a little less crazed because of it. In addition to my regular weekend tasks (grocery shopping, laundry, etc.), I also started packing my hospital bag and made a list for what else needs to go in there at a later date; wrote thank you notes for the baby gifts we have received already in advance of our shower; did a big Target run and started stocking up on shampoo, toothpaste, body wash, etc. so that we will have a little stock pile of all health & beauty type stuff when baby comes and won't have to worry about shopping for any of that for a while... the only thing I didn't do was clean the bathrooms, which I had wanted to. I am kind of hoping my wife just does that for me one day this week while she is home, but not sure I can count on being that lucky HAHA

    6. My wife is stopping by my office later this morning to sign our second parent adoption paper work in front of the notary that we have in the office. Then we will mail everything back to our attorney and wait to see what is next (pretty sure next step is to have the baby!)...

    7. So, I have really been struggling with negative feelings about my mom and my sisters related to my pregnancy and having a baby, which I am not happy about. The only people that really know that I am upset are my wife and my mother-in-law... my mom and my sisters I am pretty sure haven't got a clue that I am feeling totally deprioritized and unimportant in their lives. The story and history behind all of this is long, complicated and messy... but the highlights include one of my sisters likely not coming to my baby shower, neither of my sisters coming when baby is born, and my mom creating a bunch of drama about if/when she will be able to come when baby is born. It just seems like everything is all about them, and my whole life I have been OK with that dynamic and really catered to all of their needs. But now I am having a baby. The first baby in our family. This will be my mom's first grandchild. I don't live that far away from them (6 hours by car or 1.5 hours by plane)... and up until now I have dropped everything and gone up there at a moments notice to be there for each of them when they needed me. I have never missed an event. I just feel like I am the least important person to all of them and as much as I try to ignore that feeling and not harp on it in my own mind, I can't seem to stop thinking about it and feeling badly...

    8. We postponed our dog Reese's last grooming appointment by a few weeks in an attempt to get her groomed closer to the baby coming so that we won't have to do it again for a little while after baby comes. The result has been that poor pup looks pretty shaggy these days. I feel badly. Her grooming appointment is in 2 weeks, and that should hold her over until late June/early July I hope. I also hope that by the time the baby comes and we are ready for newborn photos Reese's fur will be just the perfect in-between length. Picture ready. HAHA - yep, I am nuts. Please don't judge! :-p

    9. I had been craving chocolate chip cookies for over a week, and last night on my way home from work I caved and stopped and bought myself one big cookie! I ate it after dinner with a glass of milk last night and it was amazing. I didn't even feel guilty about it. Woops!

    10. Life without heartburn is so flipping amazing. I am madly in love with my Nexium prescription. Seriously. I cannot stress enough what a difference it has made. I hope it lasts!

  • 1: We went to the courthouse to finalize the second parent adoption today. It makes me thankful I live in MA where it was so easy (we didn't even need a lawyer).

2: we bought little "adoption day" dresses that will double for Easter and they are SO adorable in them. Not that I'm biased or anything ;)

3: We are moving June 1. We won't know where for a couple weeks. Either PA or back to Seattle or Portland. I wish I knew so I could start preparing.

4: Either way we are spending the summer in the NW and I'm so ridiculously excited.

5: I'm ready to go back to school

6: I'm frustrated with work but feel bad about that fact because they are so nice to me. I do live the whole family, just not the working conditions at the moment

    7: Rain rain go away.

8: I'm living the warmer weather!

9: I might get Friday off paid and I'm excited!

10: Have a great week everyone!
My name is A, I am wife to J.  After 7 months of ttc and one MC, we are expecting two baby girls in 2014!

  • 1. We had a nice but busy trip to Chicago. Between the driving and the go-go-go in Chicago, I'm ready for a vacation. Thankfully this is a short week.

    2. I got the referral for the breastfeeding clinic finally! I filled out their online appointment request form last night. It is clearly geared towards people who have already had their baby since the form made me put in the baby's name (ours is currently named "Not Born Yet") and birthday and all that jazz.

    3. We are 11w6d today! Today is @Manada's last day of progesterone and estrace.

    4. Thursday is our final appointment at the RE's office! I'm excited to see the Rockies again and graduate.

    5. Sunday was my birthday (33!). Daffodils always bloom in time for my birthday but this year we weren't sure they'd make it. But they did!

    6. While we were having my birthday meal, I was commenting that 33 was a cool age with the double number. @Manada's sister (I think she was the one) pointed out that the next time I reached a double number (44), we'd have two 11 year olds. That was a completely overwhelming idea. :)

    7. I have a family history of breast cancer, so I'm participating in an advance screening program where I will get a mammogram and MRI once a year. My first mammogram was last Wednesday. I'm supposed to get the results in writing in 7-10 days from that appointment. While I realize that the chances are very low that they will be bad (both because it's unlikely that I"d have breast cancer this early and also because mammograms are increasingly discredited as effective ways of detecting breast cancer), I'm anxious for my results.

    8. While we were TTC, I fairly regularly read the pregnancy check-in. I didn't realize how much I was learning from people's experiences until we got pregnant ourselves and I started telling M things I'd learned from it.

    9. I convinced/forced M to buy maternity underwear while we were in the U.S. and she loves it. Victory!

    10. Like much of the midwestern and eastern U.S. and Canada, we are having a repeat of winter today. It actually snowed here this morning for a few hours!

We're queer. I'm 33, have severe stage 4 endo, and had both fallopian tubes removed. My love ("Manada" on the boards, 32) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tavin and Casey at 21 weeks gestation.

    Our IUIs
with @Manada: IUI# 1-7 (December 2012- September 2013) all BFN. Tried natural, femara, clomid, puregon/follistim, clomid and menopur combo, both the ovidrel and HCG triggers.

    Our IVFs:
IVF #1 my eggs November/December 2013: Cancelled IVF due to poor response

    IVF #2 my eggs/Manada's uterus January/February 2014

2/4 retrieved 10 eggs. Endo was much worse than expected. Only 3 eggs fertilized; February 7 transferred two day 3 embryos, froze one. All great condition.

  • 1. I'm 2 dpiui #5. We thought there was going to only be one good follie this cycle. By the time Sunday morning rolled around, all 4 were in the size range to be mature.

    2. I'm glad my birthday is next week because it has given me something to think about besides this TWW.

    3. Since yesterday, I have felt very zen about this cycle. That could definitely change, but right now I think I'm doing well.

    4. C was very touchy last night. I asked her if she has been using my Endometrin...I'm not sure she found it funny, but I did :). It's going to be a fun two weeks in our house!

    5. Our internet finally stopped working as we had reached our usage threshold for the billing cycle. As a result, we got a lot done last night. I dusted, she did dishes and we both took care of laundry. It was nice to get all of that done.

    6. I have lots of Spring flowers popping up. I love them and can't wait for them to blossom.

    7. We put about 300 miles on the bike over the weekend. We ended up at Letchworth State Park on Sunday.

    8. We desperately need groceries. That is my plan for my lunch hour today. I hate grocery shopping but it is necessary.

    9. C got a raise of $1/hr and is going to get 40 hours a week now. That will be a nice added little bit.

    10. The Ovidrel side effects are slowly creeping up on me. Should be in full swing by tomorrow. I'm glad I am on Endometrin. It makes me feel like I'm really doing something to help the process. At this point, there either was fertilization or there wasn't. FX there was!

    Me: 30  DW (aka C): 29

Together since 2/15/11 ~ Legally married in NY on 9/29/12

    ***CP mentioned***

We've been working on baby #1 since July 2013 using Open ID donor sperm.  8 IUI attempts with 5 actual IUIs and one chemical pregnancy.  We have one fresh IVF cycle under our belts as well as a FET.  I have endometriosis and a uterine septum that was corrected via surgery in November 2013.

11/14/14 -  Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good.

12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2

12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)

    1/2/15 - Began stimming for IVF #2

     ****All Welcome!****

We are Mommas to four fur babies - 3 dogs and 1 cat.

    1. So my former boss had a term for whiners "Winey baby pee pants" and last night, I dreamt there was a Winey Baby Pee Pants Checkin on this board, and I was the only one who checked in and complained about my stupid cold and feeling sorry for myself that tomorrow is Maui and I'm sick! Now would I do that IRL? Well, I guess I just did.

    2. Seriously the cold sucks, and last night at 2 a.m. I was sent to the couch. Well, J offered to go, but I made lemon/ginger/honey tea and put hot compresses on my sinuses which actually helped a lot. I did get back to sleep and now am just hoping it's running it course, and fast!

    3. @KH826, I love that you had a big fat cookie - I know during my bout of heartburn I was afraid to eat *anything* - I'm SO happy you are all fixed up. Six weeks to bebe! WOW!

    4. @Healz413, first off, HUGE congrats to @manada for being done with the P&E! That was great effing day!!! And, on @KH826's advice I got maternity undies and I agree - what a win! You don't know what you're missing until you have those!

    5. @AmandaG47 - whether you move back to Seattle or are just in town for a while this summer, I'd love to meet up! We can go to J's coffeeshop in Maple Leaf, there's a kids area :)

    6. I'm commenting away here because all I want to post is "I'm going to Maui tomorrow. I'm going to Maui tomorrow." But seriously, poor J has been working SO much - owning three coffeeshops is not for the faint of heart. Whenever someone leaves or gets sick, she has to fill in, so she's worked 7 days in a row a few times lately, all on her feet, etc. She needs this vacation way more than I do, and I think I'm more excited for her in that regard than I am for me.

    7. I have three work tasks to complete today and it's feeling very doable! Usually I work until like 11 p.m. the night before vacation, but I was on my game this time and super organized.

    8. We were supposed to take our chickens to their new home yesterday, but my cold was so rotten (I went to yoga anyhow, which was ok but then I had nothing left in me) - we decided to take them after our trip. I'm glad, b/c our cat Manny loves them and spends a lot of time overseeing them. He's going to be super sad when the disappear I think.

    9. Weather in Seattle is stunning! Four days now around 70, t-shirt weather for sure. Of course, I like it best when it's gray and rainy when we head out on vacation...but what'evs! Maui sun is still better than Seattle sun, as it includes a big fat beach/ocean, etc.

    10. Fish. Ok, so I am struggling on what fish I will eat in Hawaii. I mean, that's *all* we eat when we are there because it is so incredibly fresh and delicious. No sushi? On Maui? This will be way harder than not drinking. But I will figure it out! I'll post some PIPs for sure!

Here is a picture from the place we love to stay in Kihei, Hale Pau Hana Resort - we are one unit over from last year, and it looks like a nicer space but will have this same view!

  • AmandaG47  can you tell me more about the 2nd parent adoption?  How did you find out how “easy” it was in MA?  Are you both on the birth certificate?  Not sure if we are going to do it, if we need a lawyer  or not, etc in NY.

    1)     1) I am super nervous about tomorrow!!! (first RE appt)

    2)     2) We are starting to research getting a new dryer & side door, and the costs and etc.  Budgeting sucks especially when you are trying to get it all out of the way before (possibly) having a baby.

    3)      3 )We have our friend’s twins’ baptism in a couple weeks. I am very interested to see how that goes as they are same sex and it is a roman catholic church.  I believe they had to put initials for the non-birth mother’s name… but they also don’t have the same last name.  Religion is something that I am worried about for our children’s futures as we are both (officially) Catholic and wouldn’t want to deny the ability to be to our children, but… it IS the Catholic church….

    4)      4)I am going to miss wine (LOL)

    5)     5) I need to get my butt motivated to do yardwork, but every time I plan to , it is too windy/rainy/etc

    6)      6) Taxes suck.

    7)      7) Payday is good.

    8)      8) I think we picked our (anon.) donor the other night, but of course it all has to wait for the RE appts, etc.

    9)      9) We got larger computer screens at work and now I am more worried about snoopers!!

01010)   We also have a new person training, so I have to go help now! Bye!

  • 1. 2 weeks until my due date - woohooo!!!  I'm getting so excited to meet our LO, I just can't wait.  Next week I have an acupuncture appointment Monday, and two Chiropractic appointments, along with our midwife appointment.  I'll be 39 weeks and may start non-invasive labor inducing techniques, but we'll see what that midwives advise.  Just because I'm eager doesn't mean baby is....

    2. Kaden is playing with his stethoscope - so cute!!  (He has a bunch of real medical equipment left over from EV's time in Acupuncture school - years back)  He looks every official with his "toys".

    3. I have been loving the weather as of late, 70's and 80's and sunny. Our backyard is a little paradise.  All we need are foot stools for our chairs.  I'm also looking for a play structure for free or cheap.  I figure when Owen arrives we'll be home a lot and I'll need a way to keep him busy.

    4. We had new internet service installed today, since our other internet provider was very slow (despite paying for the highest speed).  Anyway we'll see how it all pans out.

    5. We're planning a trip to Las Vegas for July, and I'm not sure how it will all come together. Our goal is to go down a few days before the conference EV's company is hosting. That would give us some family time to hang out by the pool, etc.  I was going to stay the rest of the week while EV worked, but she'll likely be wrapped up from morning until late night leaving me with two babies in a hotel room.  Even if we get one with a kitchenette I can imagine this scenario being challenging. Other options include me leaving early and driving to our friends in LA (still 6 hours in a car with two babies.... alone!!).  Or having friends come vacation with me. I'm also open to just staying home that week - though I'd love to go.

    6. Our tenants in our CA house are staying on month to month for the time being.  They're likely going to keep looking for a place closer to his work in SF, but even a couple of months would be great for us, since moving in Mid-May means we'll be trying to clean and rent our house with a newborn in tow.  Plus financially I'm not looking forward to (lets say dreading is a better word) carrying our mortgage while we look for another tenant.  Luckily rents are going up in Northern CA (its really ridiculous actually), so there's the chance we could raise the rent for the next tenants.  Still my preference would be to keep our current folks on, their great tenants.

    7. Speaking of renting, I need to call our landlord because our hot water line to the washer is leaking. Blah....Cloth diapers really need to be washed on a hot cycle... :(

    8. I'm feeling a little more energetic today. I've upped my usual 5-6 hours of sleep per night to 8-9.  :-)  Makes such a difference!!  I think I might even slice, season and bake some sweet potatoes in the next little bit.  Yumm.  Our midwives wanted me to give up eating cereal (an odd craving this pregnancy, I was eating a bowl of Honey nut cheerios every day).  They suggested carby/starchy foods like sweet potato instead.

    9. I've started day dreaming about throwing Kaden a 2nd Bday party.  We have a wedding to go to on his actually Bday, but maybe the weekend after.  It's sad since we don't know a lot of kids where we live and the majority of our community is 1-2 hours North.  But maybe we could have a little party in the park somewhere in the middle...

    10. In the last 30 minutes I think Kaden spread at least a hundred things all over the floor.  This must be why I've gained less weight this time around.  All that bending down.....
  • @kh826 I cannot believe you are 33 weeks! That is amazing! I can’t wait to “meet” your little one!

@amandag47 You have a lot more patience than I…I am too much of a planner and could not handle the uncertainty…especially of a move out of state…you rock!

@healz413 Yay for your appointment with the BF clinic. I just spoke with a lactation consultant yesterday. I want to get things going for sure!

@2mamazinseattle It snowed here last night…Maui sounds AMAZING!

    Happy Tuesday Folks!

    1. I am having a really hard time not telling everyone and their best friend that we are pregnant. I almost told my trainer at the gym last night, today I was talking with our friend in England and I almost spilled it to her, and I've been chatting with my friend all day today and I am itching to tell her!!! It sucks! Its really hard not to spill everything when someone says "whats up"... I CAN'T JUST SAY NOTHING!!! LOL

    2. We don't have our first ultrasound until next tuesday and it is killing me! I want to see what's going on in there!

    3. We've stolen @kh826's plan and I will be designing the nursery without C's help...I'm really excited! We've been talking and talking about what we both want but I get to put it all together!

    4. My parents and C's parents are all coming into town this weekend for Easter. We are going to have dinner out at C's camp and its going to be pretty fun! I hope the weather warms up!

    5. I spoke with a lactation consultant yesterday and I think we are going to go ahead and set up a meeting with her. She has first hand experience with induced lactaction and I think she'll be a good fit for us!

    6. I get to help a friend of mine with their staff training for summer...I am so excited about it! I've been out of camping for a while and when I get to train it makes me so happy!

    7. I'm getting a lot of work done this afternoon and that is making me really happy!

    8. I mentioned earlier that I was talking to a friend of our who live in the UK. She is getting married next year and it is crazy to think that we might have a baby when we go to their wedding....AHHHH I'm already worried about it...

    9. C and I are making a more concentrated effort to eat better (I feel like we say this every week)...but so far so good (hello, its only tuesday)...I forget how much better I feel with healthy stuff in my body!

    10. Our screen door was damaged in a wind storm last week and we really need to get it repaired...maybe tonight...its so loud and keeps whipping open!

Yay! So exciting. I look forward to hearing more on this week's induced lactation check-in. I just heard back from the breatfeeding clinic and we set an appointment date. Looks like we're going in next Tuesday! Pretty soon our induced lactation check-in will have more action. :)

BCPs and lupron overlap Stimmed: 1/22-2/2: Bravelle and Menopur (dosage ranged from B300 and M150 to B375 and M150 to B300 and M225)
2/4 retrieved 10 eggs. Endo was much worse than expected. Only 3 eggs fertilized; February 7 transferred two day 3 embryos, froze one. All great condition.
    BFP eve of 6dp3dt; Beta 1 (11dp3dt): 110; Beta 2 (13dp3dt): 175; Beta 3 (15dp3dt): 348; Beta 4 (19dp3dt): 2222; Beta 5 (21dp3dt): 4255

***July 18, 2014 we lost our beautiful babies at 21 weeks gestation. They were born too early. Tavin Sara T. and Casey Elizabeth T. are beautiful and precious and we will love them and miss them forever.***

    FET #1 December 2014

  • 1. Pregnancy brain is in full effect. I keep forgetting things and making small errors that I never did before. AUGH!

    2. I'm exhausted, but can't sleep.  Good times

    3. I'm currently planning a surprise 40th birthday party for the wife...it is only her 39th. Hoping the humor will help ease her into this aging thing. My family and my wife's family are helping. She has never had a surprise party so hopefully she will like this.  Also a good thing to do BEFORE baby as it might not happen again for a while

    4. Watching THe Following right now. Getting caught up. Sad thing is that I believe ppl can really be this insane. Also the show is starting to really annoy me.  Guess I'll go back to light and fluffy Suburgatory

    5. The wife is trying a new recipe...hopefully this one will work out.

    6. Going to cut this short. I feel like I am about to fall out

  • Busy day with no real lunch break, so I am just getting to this now!

    1. My co-worker announced my pregnancy to a bunch of attorneys we work with today at a lunch meeting.  It's not as if it was a secret (hello, I'm in my third trimester), but none of them knew (or they weren't sure and were afraid to ask), so they were all excited and asking me lots of questions.  My boss had sent an announcement to my department but not to the whole firm or office, obviously, so it was kind of fun to have it a bit more in the open locally.

    2. My wife talked me into going to a Red Sox game next week with our couple friends.  I don't like baseball, it's on a weeknight (thus I will be tired), night games are usually cold in April, there are lots of stairs at Fenway, I can't drink beer, I shouldn't be eating ballpark food, and I'm pretty sure the crappy seats are going to give me lower back pain.  But it's the last time we will go to a game together before we have a baby, and they all wanted me to go, so...I will go.

    3. Yesterday I didn't feel any movement for a few hours after Mr. Baby was quiet all weekend (moving but not vigorously), and I got nervous and called my OB's office.  They had me do kick counts and call back.  Well of course he started kicking immediately after I hung up the phone, and passed easily, so I never had to go in for an ultrasound.  Today he's on fire.  What a stinker.

    4. If I lived in Seattle, I would sneak into @2MamazinSeattle's suitcase.

    5. Today is the year anniversary of the Marathon bombings.  I was at work, about a mile away, when it happened, though the manhunt the following Friday, which locked down my town (it was 3 miles from my house), was scarier.

    6.  So I left my wallet at home today.  I keep my subway and building passes in a separate pocket in my bag and lunch was provided by work, so I didn't realize it until late afternoon.  Guess what -- can't get my car out of the parking garage at the subway station without money.  So I had to have my wife come bring me my wallet...pregnancy brain, anyone?  Not my best night, but all's well that ends well.

    7. @healz413, I will keep my FX for your mammogram results.  My mom died of breast cancer and my first mammogram was definitely a little scary.

    8. I am going to have to check out @KH826's recommended maternity undies!  I bought some different ones but I don't love them.

    9. Performance evaluation tomorrow and I think it's going to go well.  Come on raise and bonus -- baby needs daycare!

    10. OK, too tired to think of a real #10.  :)  Good night all!

  • @healz413‌ - I'm excited for you starting with the breast feeding clinic! Looking forward to the check-in and hearing more :)

@2MamazInSeattle‌ - I would LOVE to meet-up in Seattle and go to J's coffee shop! I can't tell you how excited I am to be back in the city at least for a little while!

@mrs&mrsk - I started by researching second parent adoption and learned that in MA, I could file for waivers of the home study and certain other requirements. Also, I called the court in charge of the adoptions and talks to the a woman who was very helpful in defining a few fields I was confused about. I do know the process can be hugely different in different states.

@firstcomeslove2013‌ - it's hard not to know! It helps that either way we will be going back to the NW for the summer :)
My name is A, I am wife to J.  After 7 months of ttc and one MC, we are expecting two baby girls in 2014!

  • I'm posting late but it has been a busy 2 days.

    1. Kathy Griffin was a hit and so much fun.  I suck at gift giving and I think I did good.

    2. Yesterday my mentor was out and I did all the appointments solo for the first time and it went so well.  Everyone left happy which made me happy.

    3. 80s on Monday and snow today got to love NE weather.

    4. I am excited for this weekend we are having friends/family over Saturday to dye Easter eggs and cook out weather permitting.

    5. I need to call BostonIVF to figure out how I am going to go about starting IUIs again but I haven't gotten around to it yet and need to find the paper work with the nurses number on it.

    6.  Bills suck!!

    7.  So yesterday we went to Toys R Us to get an Easter basket for R niece and there were 3 wild turkeys chilling in front of the store in a busy MA shopping center.  R stopped and filmed it cause she thought it was hilarious.

    8.  I am excited to have a three day weekend this week.

    9.  My brain feels empty right now for number 9.

    10.  Got to shower and get ready for work.

  • Started on Tuesday....
    1.   I realized today that Pepperoni is totally turning me off.   This is sad, but okay.   I will be fine with cheese pizza....

    2.  Chocolate Milk still rocks my world.

    3.  I have a definite belly now that extends past my boobs.  It's sort of crazy how fast I'm thickening up.

    4.  I just heard back from our local hospital that they won't be moving the twin-birth class we planned to take.  They aren't offering it in July (which would be the right GA for us), and instead are trying to push us into the August/September group.   This feels like it's pushing it WAY too close for me, considering the average twin pregnancy delivers around 35 weeks (the last week of the class for us).   That seems way too late.    I'm upset about it, and not sure what to do - bah.  Doesn't seem worth the $175 though if the timing is more stressful than helpful.

    5.  I'm super annoyed today.  I'm exhausted and forgot all my vitamins at home this morning and the loudness in my office is very irritating.  Counting down to my naptime between meetings today.

    Finished on Wednesday....

    6.  So I napped for 1.5 hours yesterday in my office, which was delightful.   I am becoming quite good at office sleeping.

    7.  NO MORE PROGESTERONE!   HURRAH!

    8.  We got permission to register for our twin class early in June.  That's a relief.  We will be with a group that's a little bit further along than us, but that's okay.  I can't imagine going to an evening class that late in a twin pregnancy.

    9.  I got a call the other day that my hemoglobin is quite low.  I've ramped up the iron supplementation this week hardcore, hopefully that helps - my asthma has been acting up and that may have something to do with it.

    10.  I'm exceedingly frustrated by the fact that singleton pregnancy books/resources don't really apply -- I feel like I'm growing super fast, and am very uncomfortable early on in pregnancy -- but I know it's because we have twins and they're both doing well.   Just makes me feel a bit freaky.

  • I too started on Tuesday and finished up today...

    1. My sister (who works in finance) helped me evaluate our budget with my anticipated raise factored in. Having a plan to pay off the little bit of debt we have and save for our next house feels good.

    2. Speaking of which, I decided a few weeks ago that our next house will be a stepping stone house. We plan to have another kiddo close in age, which means we will be paying ~$1800 in day care fees each month for a few years. Best to wait to buy the dream house when that major expense is gone, but we really need more space, especially by the time we have another kid. I think we'll be ready to buy next summer.

    3. Planning all this really made us think about when we would start TTC #2. I'm thinking next April or May. Crazy to think we'll be back on the TTC train in just a year!

    4. And while I really do love nursing our son, my body is definitely not "all mine" right now. If I reach a year (as planned) or go a little longer (up in the air), I might only a have a few short months between not nursing and being pregnant/nursing again. BF is a commitment I'm willing to keep, but there's part of me that longs for the day when I'll have a bit more freedom.

    5. Part of my frustration right now is about working out. I really don't have time during the week unless I want to try to get by on less sleep than I am currently getting - not gonna happen. I need to build up a weekend routine - it just doesn't feel like enough. But, better something than nothing. And, we did get the jogging stroller out of storage last weekend...

    Finishing up on Wednesday...

    6. Z's sister, sister's kids, and mom made a quick stop in Austin on Monday. They all live in Mexico, but came to San Antonio for a quick trip and were able to come to Austin for the afternoon. I've mentioned before that the parents haven't told the kids that Z and I are a couple, which has begged a lot of questions about how they were going to explain the baby. Well, apparently they did tell the kids that Z adopted a baby, so he was introduced as their cousin, which is great and made Z really, really happy. But, I wasn't around for this visit since I was at work. Not sure how they plan to explain things when I'm also around... Sigh.

    7. My sister who visited last weekend was struck by a nasty virus Monday evening. Thankfully, none of us caught what she had.

    8. I'm excited for a three day weekend (getting friday off). Woohoo!

    9. I'm addicted to a coconut milk based ice cream - it's salted caramel and chocolate flavor. Sooooo good. But it's really pricey. It's becoming a problem!

    10. I'm out of things to say. Happy Wednesday!
