Bloody show

Anyone else have this happen to them? I had my appt in Monday and they checked to see if I am dialated. I am 1 cm and 50% effaced!!! That was yesterday afternoon. Then this morning around 8 I went to the bathroom and there was some brown colored discharged. I went to the bathroom again an hour or so later and there was even more of it. I am. It sure if it was just bleeding from the exam or if it was my bloody show. I would think that if it was from the exam it would be red or pink not brown. Any one have this happen to them?

Probably just from cervix check. I had the same thing after my last one.

It could be or it could be just the result of the cervix check. As PP said, your doctor should've told you to expect some bleeding or discharge.

I bled quite a lot after my first cervical check last Thursday, and also lost my mucus plug (I'm 1.5 cm dilated). My doctor advised some bleeding and some mucus-like discharge is all normal, and I experienced both.

Everyone is different. Some women really bleed (like me), some get spotting, some nothing, some have discharge.

You know the bolded doesn't actually mean anything, right?

PPs are right, any time you have an internal exam, you could end up spotting or bleeding afterward. Sounds like that's all it is but keep an eye on it.

I got checked this am, and it hurt! She like stuck her whole arm up there. I noticed tonight that my discharge was thicker and tinged with pink, and I'm certain it was from being checked. Just keep an eye on it, but I'm sure it will slow down! Also I'm 1cm and my doctor said that could mean anything- some women stay at a cm or two for weeks, some never dilate until they are in labor, it all depends!
