The hospital told me no pool, bath, etc until after the 6 week appointment. They said not just beause of the incision but because my cervix is still closing and you don't want the water getting all up in there.
My OB told me to take baths at my 2 week appointment. She used adhesive to close me up (no stitches) and said a good soak would help it peel off gently. I'm 4.5 weeks pp now and all the adhesive is gone and the incision site looks pretty good.
My doc also said no baths or any type of submurging in water or sex until 6 week checkup.. Something about internal infection even if you're fine on the outside. I went yesterday and she said since everything looked good, I could resume all regular activity.

This is what I've heard. However, I never even went into labor...I had an ECS for preeclampsia... So how dilated could my cervix be 5.5 wks pp? Also my water never broke...does it break during the c section? I wish I understood biology more.

I guess you water would automatically break when they cut into your uterus? And I'm also curious as to how they remove your placenta with an RCS... Aren't your contractions during labor what makes it detach? Wouldn't you hemorrhage/lose too much blood if they just cut it out? Meant to ask all this at my checkup yesterday and forgot, ugh.
Yeah I took a bath but have some dull soreness at the corners of my incision...and also I am heavily bleeding...not scary heavy, but annoying heavy...I've been bleeding for almost 6 weeks!!! So no more baths til I see the midwife.
@babycaps, my hospital doesn't allow VBACs and the next nearest hospital is hours away. Also, i don't know what disqualifies you from a VBAC...I don't know if I'd be favorable? I was incapable of birthing LO due to size and he was only 8lb 12oz. I have a super small frame/pelvis. I would def opt for one if I could! I'm one of those that's had difficultly dealing with my cs.
Re: C-section mamas...when can I
It could be BS, but I'm following rules. Lol
