So my friend is scheduled to fly out here on Thursday to visit us and the baby, but he has just told me that he went to the doctor because he isn't feeling good. Apparently he has a common head cold. The doctor said it can last for up to 10 days.
Now, I'm stuck on either letting him come and hoping he feels better by tomorrow, or asking him to change his ticket. I'm not sure how it works if he has to change his ticket to another day and I'm not sure when he'll be able to come again. I don't want Neva to get sick (we've avoided that so far) but I also realize we can't avoid it forever. Advice? Thanks ladies.

If it's just a common cold I would just ask that there be a lot of hand washing and maybe not so much holding and no kissing.
I also agree that she won't necessarily get sick. DD has had strep and a few colds since DS has been born and he hasn't gotten sick and she's constantly in his face and touching his toys etc.
It takes a lot to get my DH to go see a doctor, so was/is he feeling terrible or was he just going to make sure it wasn't something worse?
If he's feeling well enough to travel and enjoy his trip then it's probably not a big deal. He might not be super contagious by the time he shows up.
I'd just breastfeed as much as possible (if you are) to keep giving LO immune support.
We've avoided any illnesses so far (knock on wood) so in with you on wanting to keep the healthy going, but also like you said eventually LO will get a cold and that's not the worst thing either
