I am getting organized for Germany. What were the Poptarts you wanted (I can't remember that thread and that PM isn't in my inbox)? I'll be there in 3 weeks.
You are soooooo sweet!!!! But I'm actually having some nasty digestive issues that make it nearly impossible for me to eat HFCS and almost all types of sugar So PLEASE save the space in your suitcase However, it still would be lovely to meet you.
Also @catieg lives in Germany and VERY nicely offered to grab stuff from the army base if possible, so I'm hooked up Maybe we could all three get together for a coffee?

Thebump -- awesome shit, peps.
I am would love too. I'll send messages when I get there.
@has615 what a beautiful area! Closest I have been over there is to Lucerne. I must say, though, that I prefer the French Swiss food ...and language ! hehe
When/how long were you there??? How fun!
March Siggy Challenge: whatever you want! --> ORIGINAL CHALLENGE: GIF YOUR BABY!
eh, I was offered a job in France but I was like, nope - those people have all sorts of useless letters in their words. I dated a guy from the French speaking part of Switzerland and he must have tried 15 times to teach me how to say the word "what" in French. Fucking accent.
HAHAHHAHAH that's how I feel every time we are looking at a menu over on the other side and all the words are a mile long and I only recognize and can say schnitzel !
I've also got "genau" in my arsenal and try to just say it to sound cool. *whips hair over shoulder dramatically yet nonchalantly*
DH gets mad bc people can pin him as American pretty damn quick (mean to put that french R in hello AND thank you!) but it takes them longer to figure me out ;;)
I just hope this french Swiss man taught you, "ca va ou bien?!!?"
ETA: there is an n in schnitzel?

@TXswissmiss -- I double checked but for some odd reason I knew exactly what "ca va ou bien" means. Surely my French teacher (in Germany) never taught me that?! LOL I will be muttering this phrase under my breath whenever I am pissed off from now on

It was in '06 for a few months we were between Switzerland and Italy. Then DH met me in Paris for a little romp around Europe and England. Vitznau was beautiful and Lucerne was the city we would go to on the weekends to hit up the clubs. I want to go back and visit.
Near Ansbach (hour west of Nürnberg). Even further than germanpickle LOL
Further?!? Bahhh!
Ohhhhh I've heard the Xmas market at nurnberg is amazzziiinngggg! Have you been? How long have y'all been there? Did I understand correctly that youre at a military base?

Yes that one is lovely but I like the smaller ones better.
I've been here over 11 years and have no connection to the military. Thus no access to pop tarts
@germanpickle we love the smaller Xmas markets as well but have only explored the french ones - hope to make it to the German ones this year! Any suggestions??
Re: @germanpickle Which Poptarts did you want?
That explains everything

Come on over! How far is Mannheim/Heidelberg for you?
But not a bad train probably in the summer!

.....and then I realize this isn't aimed at me
We just moved back right before Beau was born. DH is in the Army so we'll be here about 3 years.
@CatieG welcome back to the cool continent !
DH and I still talk about the amazing sausages in Strasbourg - German influence...! Lol
The pampers we get for DS are made in Germany?!? Ok now I'm grasping at straws....
