When you send your dd to daycare, if she is wearing a dress, do you put stockings on her? The weather is getting warmer and I was thinking of putting her in dresses, but for some reason this stumped me today and I sent her in pants again.
I don't have girls but lots of baby girls in the family. It gets pretty warm in the Spring/Summer here so the babies usually just have diaper covers (or little shorts) under their dresses.

But what about at daycare? She's in the jumperoo and walker. I suppose she needs something on her feet. Just send her in socks? I know this sounds dumb, but I just don't want to look like a jerk.
It's always warm here so she's just got a diaper cover on underneath. Plus I hate tights, I can't imagine a baby would enjoy wearing them. Andplusalso I feel like that would be a PITA when it comes to diaper changes but that's just me!
This is exactly what I was thinking. DD has worn tights, but I'm her mother. I don't want to torture her daycare teacher.

Yes, little socks! At least that is what they do here, and I don't think anyone thinks they are jerks! My cousin is super frilly with her girls so they always have socks in various colors to match their little dresses. She has socks with bow, designs, lace, etc. I'm sure plain socks would be just as adorable as well.

We also have all the designs! They are so cute. I love the ones that look like shoes. Thanks for the advice.
We don't do DC but if she wears a dress, it's usually just with her cloth diaper. If we're going somewhere with a/c, then we also put on socks +/- baby leggings if we expect it to be truly cold. Thankfully none of these interfere with a diaper change. No way would I consider tights/stockings at this age. Or probably ever. I also never wear them. PITA IMO.
@huntjul I've put stocking or tights on her since she was born. In the winter it was to keep her warm, but for her Palm Sunday and Easter dress it's because I think the outfit looks incomplete. Is that dumb? I guess I could have gotten her those frilly lace socks too. FWIW, if we lived in a warm area I probably wouldn't have put the stockings on her.

I don't think it's dumb at all. I'm sure she was cute!
I've done tights a couple times when it's cooler out, but most dresses come with little bloomers (I call them that too), so when it's warmer, I'll put her in those with socks. I also just bought a pair of sandals, which seems silly, but I didn't want her to be barefoot all the time, and I know her feet will get hot in socks.
@sweettwilight16 yes, exactly what you said! I've started looking for sandals too! Children's place had some cute basic ones that were 2 for $6 but if u get the same ones with a flower on them, they're $10 each. I'm hoping to keep looking. Where did you find them?
I've just started putting LO in dresses because the weather is starting to get nice. I was totally having the pants or socks debate with myself!! I've ended up doing regular socks or long socks, which I think look pretty darn cute and don't mess with diaper change. Still too chilly here to go barefoot IMO. Sandals will be perfect for the summer though!

It's still too early for it here too, but we had two random 70+ degree days the other day and it came across my mind.

I got ours at Carter's. A new one just opened up by me last week, so they had really good sales/coupons.
DD1 was in daycare. We used leg warmers a lot! They are great because you can throw them on with shorts/a dress/skirt in the morning. Then their teacher can take them off as the day the day gets warmer.
So basically layers are your friends. Oh and no stockings. Those are for fancy dresses/occasions. Lol
I put on the little bloomers or leggings (more like pants) when any of the DDs wear dresses. The big girls also have little shorts to cover their panties.
If the weather is warm off enough socks are just annoying.
We are in Florida, so no to tights, just bloomers. And socks if it's chilly. Otherwise I have barefoot sandals for her. Going to attempt my hand at making her more of them!
DD has been wearing dresses all winter with leggings and socks. I have two pairs of black, white and jeggings. I only do tights for parties. I put long sleeve onesies on under the sleeveless dresses or a sweater over. Here's an example of a summer dress made winter.

I am a huge fan of the baby legs. I have some pretty patterned ones that I can match with her dresses. They are great for protecting her knees as she is crawling around.
Re: Moms of baby girls
LO then (2 days) and now (1 year)
