Hi I don't post much but I just made it to my third trimester so im new to this board. I had my 28 week check for my cervix Thu and they told me it was shortened. Didn't tell me how short but I get checked every six week due to previous pre term delivery at 34 weeks. Im so worried cuz this is way earlier than last time. Any mamas have this happen and make it close to term and any advice on what I could to to help baby stay in. TIA!!!;-)

I am 29 weeks and was diagnosed with a shortening cervix at 20 weeks. I get checked weekly since then and your doctor should tell you what number he/she doesn't want you to go past and let you know the plan if that should happen. I am currently at 2.1. I am not on bedrest just told to rest and sit as much as possible, no chores, no heavy lifting, and no carrying my 2 year old around. I was also started on progestrone vaginal suppositories once I hit 2.1. This is supposed to help decrease the chances of preterm labor and help the cervix to stop shortening. I also have a history of delivery preterm at 36 weeks.
It sounds like they are not too worried at this stage if you are only being checked every 6 weeks. Just take it easy and try to stay off your feet as much as you can.
Good Luck
