Estradiol?

Good morning, ladies!

I can't help but be COMPLETELY unfocused at work today as I await my second betas tomorrow.  I was checking my online test results from yesterday and discovered one that the nurse didn't mention when she called to quickly give me my numbers... estradiol.  My number was 88 (at 3 weeks 4 days, approx. 12- 13 DPO.)  Like with the hcg and progesterone, I'm assuming what's most important is that this number goes up, but my pgal mind can't help but worry that it's low?

Thanks ahead of time for the support!!

Re: Estradiol?

  • I've never had estradiol monitored as part of my initial pregnancy blood work (I had it checked with fertility monitoring during IUI cycles, but never post positive pregnancy test). I'm not certain that it is standard to do so as part of a pregnancy work-up?  I've only had hcg and progesterone, so I'm not much help.  Fingers crossed for a great second number!

  • I just spoke with a nurse- apparently they do consider my number to be low, but "not devastatingly low."  She said if it still considered low after tomorrow, they'll put me on a supplement.  Apparently estrogen levels are not as vital as progesterone at this stage.  PHEW!!  I think the receptionists at those offices should get bonuses for how many phone calls they have to answer from worrisome people like me each day! ;)

Thank you @lindsayhilleary for the link- that was very helpful!  Hope I'm up in the suggested range tomorrow!  Just curious- any side effects from the estrogen supplements?
