Hey! I forgot to tell you about my consult with Silber. In a nutshell...I thought he as an arrogant ass. He had a few suggestions for me that I will be taking back to WU, but I will NOT be using him. Plus, I didn't get in until after 5, for a 3:30 appt, and that was only after threatening to leave.
So glad to see all is progressing well with you:-)
Re: ***trilady2***
Hey girl - thanks so much for paging me. I had been wondering about your consult.
I wasn't a huge fan of Dr S either, really. He IS very arrogant and always so late for apts. I love love love Dr. Odem by contrast, who is humble and kind and quick to answer every question I had.
What did Dr. S suggest that you might use? I'm glad he at least had a few helpful suggestions. Are you going back to Wash U for another IUI or IVF? I am praying I see you here to stay very soon.
Silber suggested that 1) I take valium or another sedative prior to ET to relax my very tilted uterus. 2) He would start my meds slightly higher than the WU docs. I am all about his first idea, not sure about increasing the meds though. I responded great with dose they gave me. I will talk to Dr. Keller about both and get her opinion.
I'm probably triggering for IUI #7 on Wed. This will be my last IUI. It's on to IVF #2 if that doesn't work.
I also hope to be able to join you over here soon:-)
Hmmm, the valium can't hurt/might help....
Upping the meds? It could help or it could hurt. I am def. one that falls into the "it hurt" catagory. I was on huge doses of Follistim and Repronex with Dr. S. Dr O looked at my results and said I was on WAY too much drug and it was negatively affecting my embies. He had to slash the drug amount before I had a good cycle with good, healthy embies. By all means ask about it, but I won't be surprised if Dr. K says no, esp. if you responded well before and even had some to freeze.
Meantime, GL GL GL with your IUI. Perhaps you will get your BFP and not even need all of this?!?!?! I am rooting for you.
