Follistim injection dose

Hi everyone. I just started on the Follistim injections. My first day was Sunday and I am doing them every day through Thursday, and then will have blood work and an ultrasound on Friday to see how everything is looking, with hopes to do IUI after that. My concern is that my Follistim dose is too high. It's 75(units?) per day. Initially my doctor told me he was going to start me on a super low dose. However, the actual doctor who prescribed it was a different one. I've had a really bad headache with all of this as well. So just wondering if any of you have done the injections and if so, what was your dose?

I'm on Gonal, basically the same thing. I think my first cycle I started on 50iu but he quickly moved that up to 100. I only got 1 mature. My 2nd and 3rd cycle I took between 200-275iu a night and I had much better response. They will adjust depending on how you respond.

My last cycle they put me on 100 for 4 days then they upped it to 125 for 2 days to help my lining. This time I started out at 125. Like @pintobean39 said, they will adjust if needed! Good Luck!

Edit to say.. the first cycle I had two follicles and this cycle so far might give me three.

You're cycle sounds great! I'm CD8 as well and just left my u/s. My lining is thin at around 5 and I have three follicles but they are around 11-12 mm I think (I have a some smaller ones). I'm jealous!

I really like my RE, but I feel like they never give me as much information as you all get. I'm really just guessing on the size of my follicles bc I looked at the screen. Oh well.

Some REs start with 50iu, but I think most start with 75iu. So the dose you have is pretty standard. You should be good and if you are responding faster than they wanted, they will lower the dosage after Friday.

On my first cycle I started out at 75iu. Your first medicated cycle is kinda like a freebie, meaning they are figuring out how your body responds. They can adjust dosage during your cycle to see how it responds as well. I know that my RE is lowering mine to 50iu on our next cycle. At least that's the plan.

Thank you for all of your input! I'm trying not to stress, but it's so hard. I will just be so bummed if I find out that I have too many mature follies. Or not enough, but for whatever reason I'm more concerned about having too many. Have any of you had that happen to you? Or is it more common that I wouldn't have enough?

I start with 150 of Gonal-F and go from there. My first cycle I over responded and we had to cancel. My follies like to wait until the last minute to really grow apparently. The protocol for this cycle and the previous one are in my siggy. Usually, the units you use are based on your blood work.

I started with 50iu for 6 nights, 2 nights at 7iu, and then 2 nights at 50iu. I started surging on my own, and I had smallish follicles of 16,14,13,12 and a few smaller ones, based on my e2 my RE said I had 4 mature eggs.
