Back in Feb, MIL stayed here with A for 1 night while DH and I went to Disneyland. We were talking about his naps the other day and she said "yea he sleeps great in the bed! When he woke up at 3am that night, I just pulled him into bed with me and he slept until 7". He always sleeps until morning after a wake up past 1 am....in his crib! I realize there are safe practices in bed sharing, but this wasn't that at all. The bed is elevated, not touching a wall, no rails, and has pillows, sheets and a comforter. I was shocked and so upset. Would you say something now or when she mentions another sleepover? She is very nice and I luckily don't have the normal MIL issues with her. Idk if I would be able to trust her with another overnight before he's in a toddler bed, I'd be too afraid she'd brush off what I said since I'm kind of an uptight mom as it is. Thanks for listening
Re: WWJ13 Do?
Glad for you that your MIL can do overnights with A so you and DH can have some time together
Maybe mention "Well since he's started crawling, boy oh boy does he move fast. He's too fast to let sleep in bed with you, he may crawl out of bed in the middle of the night!".
Obviously you can tell her you don't want him in bed and to please follow your wishes. But a creative way of doing that is telling her a story about him.
Good one. This!
