I went to Trader Joe's for the first time today (lucky people in Eastern MI. Us west-siders are deprived :( ). Anyway, I had Amelia in the Beco carrier. The cashier started oohing and ahhing over her. She then looked and the carrier and said to me, "Is there a harness on that or something?"

"Nope. I'm a magician and she's defying gravity." Really?!

    H's grandma said that since E is a boob baby I have to watch how much he eats so he doesn't get fat. I had no words.

    I don't understand what is so weird about this that it inspired you to start a thread entitled "shit people say." Truly. It's neither rude nor particularly stupid. It is simply a person trying to figure out how something works -- likely something she has zero experience with.

    @peanutmuse I just thought it was a little obvious - yes, she's strapped in. Maybe I was a little hard on her but I thought it was funny. It's possible "sh*t" was too harsh of a word.

    I get it, things seem obvious when you know the answer. KWIM? I guess when I think of this type of thread, I think of rude or really, really stupid stuff.

    LO was teeny at birth, 5 lbs ...she has doubled her weight and is now 10lbs 5ozs at 10 wks and is EBF which is something new to my whole family. My grandmother told me the other day "if you're not careful you're going to make her into a Michelin baby". Really Grandma?! I asked her if she wanted me to put her on a diet or perhaps skim the fat off her milk..lol yea right, WTH?!!!! (She just laughed by the way)

    Edit to add that she also told me to start weening and adding in solids. :-@
