Pregnant after a Loss

Advice?

I don't know if this is normal. because we've never made it his far before, but I'm 20 weeks today, and for the past few days, I've been getting sharp pains that feel near my cervix.  Could this just be our LO getting bigger and me feeling him more as he moves, or should I be calling my OB?  It's random through out the day, and my abdomen isn't hardening with the pains or anything.  They don't make me double over or anything, but it's enough to make my breath catch a little.

Re: Advice?

  • It is probably the baby kicking you down there. That's what it feels like to me. A really quick, sharp pain. It isn't anything to be worried about in that case.

  • I was getting it so much that I actually ended up taking myself to the ER. They couldn't find a real "reason" other than it was normal. But it definitely made me nervous and very uncomfortable!!

  • Sounds like lightening crotch!! O the joys of pregnancy :)

But, if it does get so bad that you're doubled over or it doesn't go away after a few minutes, don't hesitate to call your doctor.

  • Yeah lightning crotch is no fun, but as long as you don't notice any unusual discharge I wouldn't be concerned. Mine started around 20w as well.

  • I called the office a few minutes after I posted this. While I agree with you ladies that it's probably baby related and fine, I've had a temperature of 99.7 for a few days that I forgot to mention here.  The nurse said, since I have a low-grade fever, to come in for a UA to test for a bladder infection tomorrow.  Still, nothing to really worry about, and thank you all for your advice and input.

Fingers crossed it is just LO doing his thing and not a UTI.
