I work with a large European contingency and they are are ALL off this week for vacation. Major deadlines? I guess no one cares. Leaving me to hold triple the projects down. My boss is empathetic as she is dealing with the same stuff but we're going to be super busy. Pre school is closed from tomorrow to next Tuesday. DH will have his hands full and frankly, I wanted to have some fun too. I was really hoping to take off on Friday so I'll plug away!

Our family's been in upheaval for the past few weeks - DH was on travel, we had to switch daycare very suddenly, I was uber sick last week so DH had to come back from travel to first take off with DD when she was sick then take on most everything at home while I was out cold in bed, DD is going through a cranky/defiant stage which may or may not be tied to the other big changes . . . so, we're all a bit on edge. I've been trying to lighten the load for DH now that I feel better so he can recover from jet lag and get a break from all of DD's whining - which is really out of character for her, so we're probably more thin skinned about this than most parents of toddlers - but all the breaks don't seem to have helped DH out much, and in the mean time, I've exhausted myself and now I need a break. Plus, I'm behind on my relaxation exercises/homework for childbirth stuff and still haven't gotten around to doing prenatal yoga - oops.

I'm tired (not sleeping well ave. 4 hrs night), don't feel like doing anything. DH is home with DD (has a fever) would love to be watching movies all day with her, but must work. DH filled the garage with stuff to sell and I cannot stand it - scattered and must be sorted. Oh and the weather calls for 1-3 inches of snow?!?

Weekend was complete chaos as we moved in with my parents and our plan to use PODS to store our stuff for a month fell through at 5pm on Friday and I was scrambling for alternative solutions for us for the next month. It is going to be a long four weeks at my parents with the kids and a longer commute for all of us.

This weather stinks. I packed up my winter coat and of course it's 38 and a chance of snow...I've got a rain coat and that's it. Sweet.

DS got a hold of his baby monitor last night and threw it across the room and of course it doesn't work now. And DH decided to yell at him for it which totally messed up DS's sleeping - usually it takes him 2 minutes to go to sleep and last night it took us almost an hour to get him to sleep. Plus, I don't agree with the way DH tried to discipline DS which led to us arguing. Sigh. I really don't know how I am going to deal with 2 kids once this LO arrives.

I'm getting a cold. I've had a sore throat and headache for 2 days. This week is crazy, and then we're closed Friday for Good Friday, so I've had plans with a girlfriend set for months for that day. And I'm probably going to be right in the middle of an awful cold for my fun day out.

I'm having female issues, and have to have a procedure done on Wed. Not a big deal, but I'm likely going to be uncomfortable for the rest of the day. We've had a neighborhood meeting planned for a month on that day. The dr appointment came up later. And I tried to move it and I can't.

And I have to start packing up my office to move up one floor in our building. I have files in here that dates back to the Clinton administration, so this is going to suuuuck...

I just wrote a long post in the "How was your weekend" thread about how I'm glad to be at work today. Then as soon as I posted it I started missing my kids and now I feel bad. :-(

Here's a total first world vent: A few weeks ago I dropped my iPhone in the toilet while helping DS use the potty. It was fine (bag of rice for two days) but I threw away the case because it had fabric on it. I keep meaning to get a new case but forgetting. Yesterday I forgot it was in my back pocket and I sat down on a curb while playing outside with DS and heard a crack. Fortunately it's the back that shattered and the phone is still usable. But jeez, what's wrong with me!?

We had a really nice weekend except for last night. We planned a low-key night...spaghetti, a walk and relax before the busy week but then my mom decided to have a last minute birthday dinner for DH and my brother. So that was fine, they live close and we had fun except my dad was acting like a big wiener and put a damper on the whole thing. He was just being snappy at everyone but the last straw was when he snapped at DS. Why invite people over if you're in a bad mood and acting like an ass? I want my relaxed, happy Sunday night back!

I am so frustrated with the Marine Corps right now. I've been ranting on my blog about the proposal to cut our pay, which infuriates me. To make everything even worse, we have no idea if DH is deploying or not...and if he does it will be in less than 90 days. We also don't know if/when we will be moving. There are literally 3 places that we could wind up living this August. So now I'm trying to figure out what to do about preschool/daycare, and one of the places I called about a waiting list is insisting that we view the school before we can apply. Seriously? I'm not even in that state!!! I'm so frustrated.

I dropped my phone on Christmas vacation and shattered the screen.. my BIL recommended a shop and $90 and 45 mins later, good as new. (You may already know this but I had no idea they can FIX a screen, AT&T told me I needed to buy a whole new phone.)

Thanks! I'm considering it but it's actually the back of the phone that shattered. So for now it works fine. Fingers crossed it doesn't start acting up.

Wow that is so frustrating! We're aiming to buy and move to the next state over this summer so we've applied to preschools in both our current state (in case buying a home and moving doesn't pan out) and the two neighborhoods we're targeting. It is overwhelming enough with just two possibilities, made only worse by our preference for Montessori preschools - which require an in-person visit before your application is complete! (Really, after seeing half a dozen Montessori primary rooms, I don't need to see another to apply.) I can not imagine having 3, maybe 4, cities to plan for plus a pay cut to top it all off. So sorry!

AF showed up yesterday, and I'm a bit miserable today. It's not my first AF PP, but it's definitely the heaviest and most painful so far. It's chilly and rainy today, and DS was being so sweet and snuggly, I just wanted to stay home. The longer I sit here, the more I'm thinking I should have... Oh, well.

First full week of work started today. I went back last Wednesday, which was a good trial run! There's such negativity in the building I work in that it's crazy. The really palm to forehead slap moment came this morning in the daily meeting with the dept heads when they opened up with a daily devotional and prayer. Seriously this is a room full of hypocrites. I almost laughed.

@dashofreality‌ so sorry y'all are getting jacked around. DH's last day in the Navy was last Monday - and all if the things you listed are all reasons I'm so happy to be done!!
