I'm not sure if any of you will remember me posting about my Dad at the end of January, but just in case I'll provide a bit of back story. He suffered from COPD for the past 7-8 years, was on oxygen for 18-20 hours a day and was going through a divorce from my step-mum. He then made himself homeless and turned up in my door step when I was 8.5 months pregnant, forcing me to get him committed to a hospital for treatment as he was refusing to go.
It went up from there. We got him a ground floor flat with parking, close to both me and my brother so we could check in on him regularly. He came to see me twice a week for lunch to see Emily (his first grandchild) and was soooo excited to spend time with her.
Sadly my brother went to see him yesterday and found him dead on the floor. I'm so sad to have lost my Dad, but more sad that he'd only just started getting his life back. The divorce wasn't pretty and he'd been living in a poor environment for a couple of years, which he'd kept hidden from me and my brother. Finally he had some money to buy himself some clothes, to cook what he wanted for his dinner after living on toast for months etc and he had just 10 weeks to enjoy his life.
He'll never see my daughter grow up, and she'll never know her grandad. That breaks my heart as family were his life

All I can do is make sure she see's pictures of him and that I tell her all about him.
