I am wondering if I should bring some kind of flotation device for Emma on vacation. We will be at the beach and pools, has anyone used anything like this? I obviously will not just put her in the pool alone, I will be right next to her but would like to give her more freedom then just holding her while in the water.
I saw the piddle jumpers and I feel like Emma wouldn't be happy wearing it around her arms. Also I read that she would need to be able to hold herself upright in it and I don't know if she would get that.
LO has been in swim lessons since she was 6 months. The 3 instructors have recommended not using any arm floatation devices at all. It restricts their own arm movements and gives false security. I agree with following weight guidelines and also using a coastguard certified flotation device. If there is an REI near you, they have a great return policy if you buy one you aren't happy with. Good luck.
Thanks for you input ladies. I decided not to get it and will either bring my sisters float like this or nothing at all if I cant make it to her house before we leave.

I have this one for Wesley and he loves it. It travels very nicely as well and folds up pretty small.
