That's how I feel. My Dr gave me no reason to think either scan would be anything other than perfect but since I'm high risk she just wants to be on the safe side and have more trained eyes look this baby over.
I am getting another one this Thursday (1 week after first my a/s) only because they could not get a good picture if the baby's heart, so it will be a limited study.
I had my first a/s last week, having another one on May 9th to take a closer look at her heart, but this was planned all along by the specialist; they just want to triple check that all is well, and the heart is better seen at 22-23 weeks. Surprisingly, I'm not too worried; I guess I just can't help but have hope that all is well with the little lady...
I am having a second one done in 2 weeks since the baby was sleeping facing my spine and they couldnt get a good look at his heart, diaphragm and facial bones. I am with the others... another reason to see my baby? Fine by me!
Me - 26 - Suspected PCOS
DH - 28 - Slightly low T and low morphology
Jan 2011 - Stop BCP
Jan/Feb 2013 - Normal hormone panel/HSG - tubes clear
April 2013 - DH's bloodwork and SA - low T and 0% morphology - Start DH on Clomid and vitamin regimen
May 2013 - start metformin for PCOS but ended up stopping in July 2013 due to elevated liver function
Sept 2013 - first RE appointment/follow-up SA shows 2% morph!!
We had to go back w baby 2 because they couldn't get a good shot of her heart. Now we may have to go back with baby 3 because they didn't get a great shot of the spine. I'm not concerned, mostly because baby was just being less than cooperative.
My OB referred me to a more specialized tech because of my age and they recommended going closer to the 22 week mark to get better measurements. But we're just doing the one.
I got a scan at 18.5 weeks - where they could see the heart - but I'm getting another one on Monday too. No complaints here though..... they can look all they like.
