I am 36 weeks with my first child. As far as I know, I haven't had a single contraction, false or real. I don't know if I really just don't feel them or know what they are, but it concerns me. Anyone else dealing with this or have any advice?
Don't be concerned, be grateful lol. I was the same way with DD1, not a single contraction, until the day I was in labor. This time around, I get teased with some hard core contractions that seem very regular, and then go away. Fun times...
I mean can I still be dilating and everything going how it should? I feel like I'm never gonna have him because all these labor symptoms aren't happening
I never had BH or contractions (that I knew of) with DD and was still dilated to 3 cm when I was checked at my 39 week appt and I went into labor and had her at 40 weeks.
I never had BH or anything with DS1 and Dilated 1 cm or so each time I was checked, so about 1 cm a week. Went into labor naturally at exactly 39 weeks with him, and knew instantly when I awoke having contractions that morning. I always worried I would have false labor, lol. I was 7 - 8 cm when arriving at the hospital 30 minutes later so I guess I had been having them all night.

There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children.
I just kept telling my husband "there must be something wrong with me, I don't know of anyone who doesn't have contractions or anything" but you all have definitely put my mind at ease (:
FTM here. Between weeks 28-34, I had random moments when my stomach would get hard, but didn't feel any pressure or pain. I haven't had that happen for a few weeks now, just feeling baby move a lot. I'm assuming what I felt before was BH, but hell if I know!
I hadn't had any BH either and my OB said many FTMs don't have them and/or feel them. Totally normal. Mine now are so light if I don't pay attention I wouldnt know I have had one. Also my mother never had a BH and did not have a contraction until after her water broke then had me a couple hours later. Super quick. Just relax and wait until your body does what it's supposed to do.

You're 36 weeks. These 'labor symptoms' shouldn't be happening. Smile.

I think it's normal - I had ZERO with DS. I don't even think I ever had BH b/c I sure don't remember them. This time, I've had BH for a few weeks already and it caught me off guard a little. I'd say it's normal, especially for a first child.
It's fairly common for a FTM not to feel any contractions during pregnancy. You're definitely having BH contrax and have been for quite some time now, but you won't necessarily feel them since they're [generally] not painful or disruptive and can present in different ways for each woman. Even real contrax (the unproductive non-labor but non-BH kind), when they're mild, can be confused for gas, RLP, back strain, or general abdominal/pelvic discomfort.
If you're induced, it's entirely possible that you won't feel any natural contractions at all until your body starts to respond to the pitocin and labor on its own.

I've never had Braxton hicks and I'm happy I haven't had them especially happy to not have had real contractions! I asked my mom if she ever had any and she said she never felt a thing during any of her 3 pregnancies. I don't even feel my stomach tightening. This is totally normal. You are only 36 weeks and I would assume you would like to keep baby cooking as long as possible. Good for you for feeling good!
On the other hand, I've been having Braxton Hicks since the first trimester and I was checked today - zero progress at all (not that I'm complaining). So having them or lack of doesn't mean much.
Re: No Braxton Hicks or Contractions?
So my second two decided to make up for that with gusto.
